As above.

If car doesn't come with optional 6-CD changer, will loom for it reside behind glovebox anyway?

Muchos gracias gentlemen. :)

It sounds like maybe the older ones did have... It could be a bit hit an miss though... I've heard of two that did and one that didn't so far.

Forgot to ask ~ does the "tray" on non-changer-equiped cars just pull out, or is there a special knack?

I've got a changer myself ~ question is for someone else, so I can't just go out to my car and give it a tug (easy fellas  )

thanks in advance again

there's a guide on ICE Cavern telling you how to fit a changer to a Leon that doesn't have one as standard ;)

the thin outer trim pulls off - Firmly BUT dont twist it

then the pocket is held with 2 screws (torx usually)

add brackets to CD (short proper screws)

connect wire (if present)

slide in and re-install screws

clip in thin surround

JOB DONE

or as ice man says above : PIC FORM

http://www.icecavern.co.uk/howtos/leoncdfitting/main.htm

only problems possible :

breaking trim off - if you pull too hard in one spot - pull evenly

no wires - can be added easily but needs radio out (special keys)

no Torx screwdrivers (halfords :) )

screwing CD side brackets with wrong length screws (no CD eject ) as it jams the tray if too long

Get all the parts from the dealer as supply only - if all goes well should be circa £200 and take 10 mins :):)

Hey how firm is firm ?

I pulled this trim but it looks like it is screwed/glued or attached in other way. I was pulling really firm - I dont want to break it.
I was so desperate that I unscrewed the four torx screws running through the upper edge of glovebox - no results
How should I get it off ?

Maybe it is because of my glovebox - I asked oem parts reseller and they told me my03 (topsport) glovebox needs to be replaced in order to install cd-changer, but I do not trust that BS. As I look at the icecavern pictures, I see my glovebox is quite similar although it is flipped horizontally (mirror image) - its LHD. There is also the airbag disconnection module which takes a lot of glovebox space.

What if I dont have the loom? How can the wires be added & what type of cable is needed ? I want to plug the Sony cdx-t70mx using connects2 adapter.

Any suggestions ?

thanks for any help

Thanks for the Plug Flapper mate :D :D Mucho appreciated :D

EVERYONE GO THERE NOW :D :D :D

OK about the glovebox, you shouldn't have to pull that hard, but try sliding a small screwdriver under the lip and you will be able to work out where the clips are. You can certainly fit a CD changer in the glovebox even with the airbag stuff in there. The cable should just be a Seat part # you need to order.

:D

We were talking about 2 different trims...

I do not have a drawer, just the inner plastic trim, which serves as a compartment divided into two bays. It runs along the abs off module and the rest of glovebox (inside it). I was trying to pull this trim out and broken a screwdriver while doing it, so its rather hard to pull it :D.

I don't have the wiring too. I already ordered the mounting brackets and a top cover, but still, I am afraid I have to change the inner glovebox part or... dunno what else.

Can the connects2 adapter be plugged right to the aura radio ?
Does it have any wiring or just the adapter itself?

I was able to get a connects2 with the wiring to connect directly into the back of the Aura. The problem was the wiring they supplied was about 15cms long and there is no physical way that the connects2 box will fit behind the Aura. I had to cut and extend the wiring by about 50cms to fit the connects2 box behing the glove compartment

Hey, thanks for the info mate.
Maybe I will order the longer wiring version of connects2 (designed for boot installation) to avoid the hassle.

What is your cd-changer model ? Does it work with aura correctly ?
