I appreciate that you guys are busy and working hard towards the launch of your new tuning products but I really think you need to clear up a lot of confusion surrounding your products.

i) For existing APR customers - I read that you are offering a free upgrade to REVO software to all pre 31/12/02 APR customers. Is this correct?

ii) With regard to the above question - Do existing APR customers with cruise control fitted retain the ability to switch between standard and tuned programs using the cruise control stock? (I recently heard that this would not be the case and we would be expected to pay a further £150 or £250 (dependent on SPS option) to have the facility to switch programs).

iii) For those that have it, will cruise control be retained after changing to REVO software?

iv) Myself and many others are interested in the performance figures being developed by the REVO software. (I understand that the software is still being finalised therefore a rough indication would be appreciated until official figures can be provided)

v) Has the REVO anti-theft option received Thatcham approval yet?

vi) I understand that the "free" upgrade will only be offered at REVO HQ in Daventry. Can i ask why this will not be offered through your dealers as I am not exaclty local.

I'm sure others have some more questions they would like cleared up and reckon we'd all be grateful for some confirmation on the things we are asking.

I think on the last point I think the reason is to do with the old (standard )chip having to be re-fitted to the ECU. Not all dealers are likely to have the ability to do that...

I'll try and answer these to the best of my knowledge in the interim, im sure one of the chaps from REVO will pick up on it soon.

Ok.

1. It was explained to me that they will offer a free upgrade to exisiting APR customers, who dealt with them last year, but this offer can only be done through them, it doesn't apply to their dealers.

2. No as i understand it, the cruise control will not be able to switch programs on the REVO code, this can only be done via their SPS switch. And as the switching item is costing to manufacture, this would be a chargeable item. As i am aware anyway (REVO can confirm this)

3. As for the cruise control being retained, i believe the cruise system itself can be kept, in that it acts as a cruise control and nothing else, this i believe is still possible, though may not be on the Ibiza, The Leon however, has the VAG ECU option of having cruise enabled anyway, without a chip or software map.

4. That i can't help you on, but i believe they are higher figures than the APR codings. (But REVO will have to confirm that)

5. Can't answer that, again (REVO question)

6. Reason its only offered through themselves and not their dealers, is simply to do the job, would require the dealer to do the work, and then costs apply involving labour, also parts as the APR EMCS chip needs to be removed, and a stock chip replaced as im aware anyway, and again this results in dealer labour costs.

Where as REVO have offered to waiver these costs, if you go to them direct, i know its a distance to go, depends how much you really need to change i guess.

Obviously dont take this as gospal, im just making you aware of what i was made aware of.

Thanks Mark, saved me some typing there. All is correct.
However absolutely no Revo software will be switchable with Cruise control.
Sauls car is slightly different as his was an early test car for the performance software only. We will have to upgrade Saul ASAP to run as full Revo software.

Mark, I have been trying to return your mail today with no luck again.
The I.C thing could be sorted. Give us a call on Monday afternoon.

We carried out a couple of very quick dyno runs on an Ibiza today with Revo software only and read 206bhp with 244lbft.
This will be the low optimax setting and SPS3 users will be able to go beyond this.

Sorry to be breif again but next week should bring more clarity on the whole Revo product.
