Quick mk2 ibiza question.

I am currently running a set of 6x9 at the back. They are running straight off the head unit. To connect them i cut the wires going to the original rear speakers and connected them to the 6x9's.
I have now connected the rear (standard) speakers as well as the 6x9 and i think the sound has become quieter. Would this be due to each wire (from head unit) now running 2 speakers as opposed to 1?

Yup.

Powering 4 speakers from the same wattage instead of two will divide them in half.

...or you could lose the 6x9s altogether and just power the front speakers.

That's what most people on here have done - generally the sound quality of 6x9s isn't regarded very highly. I wouldn't amp them without amping the fronts as they'll be running on average about 18W RMS, and less on a standard HU

Or if you can get a 4 channel amp you can amp them both?

Amp the front. Mmm never thought of that. In that case i already have a power cable (for an amp running my sub) can i use the same power cable and split it or should i wire in another power cable from the battery?
