Is it worth getting a tracker? has anyone got one? had any problems? I can get one for nothing from work and get it fitted for nothing as my garage fits them. all i have to pay is the subscription

A friend of mine had one fitted to his TT. He had no problems but then he never had reason for it to be used in anger. They are a great idea. I'd get one if I was you.

Cheers

there you have it , and keep it too , ONLY subscription charge , you should save that alone off your insurance , if you believe what they say :)

should help you keep it , and help it if/when you come to sell it too

Get one, I had one on my Golf GTI and now on my Cupra. I saved 15% off my insurance, over three years this is the price of the Tracker. You are getting a bloody good deal !

Sounds good RE: Insurance - especially if you are getting it for free...

Call me a cynic though - but if someone nicked my car - I wouldn't want it back.. I'd rather they burn it, and totally destroy it, rather than get a car back that has probably been thrashed to hell. But hey, that's just me acting spoilt!!

Recovery rate in Manchester is around 20mins so hopefully it would not get too thrashed! Have you every tried to get insurance after having a car stolen and not recovered, it's expensive.

Cynic! ;)

Personally, after having an accident earlier this year I need all of my two years NCB so I'd rather the police got it back (about 20 mins as someone mentioned) and then get the window/locks etc fixed out of my own pocket (assuming it wasn't silly money) to get me back closer to 4 years bonus so I can protect it.

Cheers

Which insurence company did you use? There is a list in the pack i got with it but haven't seen a 15% discount on any!!

When I had the Golf GTI I was with Privilege Insurance they gave 15% discount. My Cupra is with Swinton Insurance - NIG Scandia and I get 7.5% discount. I must say that NIG are expensive for Cupras about £150 dearer than Privilege but, due to a cock up by Privilege there was no cover note sent to my dealer when I went to pick the car up!! The only company I could get a cover note from imediately was Swinton so I had to pay the extra and loose some money on my old policy.
