Hi I am about to buy a 2002 Cupra (black) or a 2001 Ibiza (yellow) after reading about 100 old posts i am a bit concerned that neither of these cars will be as near as fast as I thought they would be, after chipping. Did the AYP problem ever get fixed? and do revos new programs fix this problem and give ayp engines the same hp as the older 2000 engines? If they do I will use them as Jabba dont seem to be able to get anymore than 200 hp from the 2001/2002 models from what ive read.

P.S I am going to garage today so any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I live in Holland. Every tuner here can get around 198 bhp out of an AYP version. There are several tuners who push the limits and exceed the 200 bhp barier (208 bhp and low torq)..

I've got 198 bhp (engine) and a little bit more then 300 NM torq (307).. this just with an chip.

In march i am going for an exhaust and turbo upgrade. The estimaded power after this conversion would be 240 bhp..very nice i would say.

My AYP had some problems as for start, but now it performs(ed) very well. Using a manual boost controller, i got ~330Nm peak torque below 3000rpm (that's all we could measure), and it spinned the tires in 1st all the way up to limiter and even in 2nd up till ~50Mph at full throttle. Pity i crashed it lately.

Can anyone inform me about the differences between AYP engine model and others (such as AQX models of 2000)? I've read about different N75, Sensor data and ECU mapping.

If this is the case then I guess that REVO must state chipping for AYP and AQX as different programs.

I know the differences for VAG GROUP stated as AWD(2000),AWW(2001, VVT and smaller downpipe but more power) and AWP(180bhp version) but not for AYP, AQX and other models. And AWW performs better in chiptuning that AWD.

BTW, mine is an AYP EWP IBIZA CUPRA 2001, manufactured end of January 2001.
