Ok strange one.

Had a Ford Orion before I got the cupra, now that policy expired around November last year.

I bought the cupra in september, and when I did got a quote from lancaster (who insured me at the time), they wanted crazy paving money for the cupra so went elsewhere.

Now due to pure lazyness I didn't cancel the policy, the orion was scrapped and the policy expired after a year.

Never made a claim.

Now I have had the cupra a year (almost) and insurance is due, have had an accident that wasn't my fault and I am assuming I won't loose my NCB for this year (will check though).

Now can I claim two years? I would have thought so but just checking?

er no....

as i read that the policies overlapped by 2 months... so you cant add another 2 year to the NCB.
When you took the policy out foe the cupra what NCB did they give you? i would expect that the have 1 year added, however explain to them you have 10 months more motoring they may suggest something.

you will also find that in most cases a second car does not get the NCB you already have.
you have to build it up for each car.

whether you loose your NCB due to the accident depends on your policy. - have you got protected NCB? if not then you may loose it as you have claimed. (it wasnt your fault, buts its a claim).

I checked an they don't think it will effect my NCB for this year, so that's 1 year, this year insurance on cupra.

Previously had an accident free year on the orion but cupra and orion overlapped by 2 months.

Wondering if I can have 2 year NCB or only 1.

Hope that explains a little better.

well you havnt had 2 years yet. so id say no. (22 months).
also you cant run up NCB on different cars at the same time which you then combine for use on one car. (you can only drive one at a time)

if you had two cars the NCB would run up for each car seperately, you cant then combine them. But now some companies are more flexible so you will just have to ask. But no you can just go around saying you have 2 years NCB.

When you get a quote and they then ask for proof of no claims, how will you supply this?
Ask your current insurance supplier what you can do. they may offer to give you another year if you do another 2 months.

you presumably declared no NCB at the start of the cupra policy? if so its 1 year later now.
