View Full Version : Yet another REVO question
Scenario: You've set your anti-theft device on your SPS3 and when you return to the car it won't reset. The AA will probably take you as far as your nearest SEAT garage but what will happen then? Likewise if a fault occurs during normal running when the car is set to a higher boost.
SENSIBLE MODE OFF - Leon Cupra R + 263bhp/287lb/ft = (cue music) "Let's go fu**ing mental, let's go f**king mental, ta ra ra ra......

Default, fault mode is std. (as far as I know)
Why would'nt it want to reset?
Loose your SPS box tho and yep! Your stuck.

Thanks for the quick reply Bill.
Is that why Thatcham want it to have two handsets?

I would "guess" so yes.

Are Thatcham considering approval then ?
It's not strictly an Immobiliser, as the car will still crank, which is enough for someone to crank on to a trailer in gear (and they're off!).
I'm guessing that the PWM Injection maps and throttle maps are filled with a bag of zero's or idle speed strategy is fiddled with, hence no fuelling is possible. The car will still run on first crank attempt for a short while though, due to stagnent fuel.
The factory immo (like other manufacturers), should not even allow the car to crank if the key transponder has not synchronised with the immo transponder.
Also, the SPS3 units do not sync themselves to your car (due to reflash enable reasons and undetectability etc..), hence ANY SPS3 unit could turn immo off (this is he case at the moment anyway, REVO may be able to tell u more). This alone would fail thatcham approval.
Cheers
