The face of the head unit is mounted in a wooden pod. It pops off as a normal unit would.

This is then wired backed to the other part of the head unit which is mounted behind the dash somewhere.

The head unit I chose is a remote commander unit from Alpine ie it just has a radio and no biult in CD. I think the particular head unit used may affect how easy the wiring bit is.

To someone who knows what they are doing, this is a relatively easy job and can be done in a few hours.

There are some builds for some 6" drivers behind the door panels.

All the work was done at Cheltenham Car HiFi, who also did a mega install in my P1. All I can say is I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Ahhhh.... I know what you've used now. I was a little confused as to how you'd fitted a din unit there. The commander units are only thin and then plug into a unit similar to the ones most indash screens use.

Saul I think this solves the problem I'll have a look.....

You all have to stand in a circle and tell everyone your name and that you are an ICEoholic. If you don't I'll throw you in the boot and put the bass cd on.......

There are two of them. One is about £250 the other is about £350. Then you'll need a CD changer. I've only seen stuff on the higher spec one, it's AI-net so it should control the alpine dvd.
