Not rellay a TDi specific post but what the hell. It should probably go in reviews or ibiza forum but I put it in a TDi and so the post is going here as well.

I just fitted the above mentioned strut brace and it has made a huge difference. I had my doubts, never having had a brace before, but After a short trip down the road and back the difference is amazing.

If you're ordering your car now, add this option

If you already have your car, do yourself a favour and fit one.

It surprised me as well when I 1st put one on the scirocco. Had it on all cars since. Still trying to find one to fit the toledo.

I've never had a strut brace before...

What sort of difference does it make - how does it feel different ?

your turn in response is instantly quicker (something like going from 15" to 17" wheels). I was surprised that it removed some of the strange noises emitted from my dash at the time.

The car feels more stuck to the ground when you go around corners. you don't feel quite so much like you're about to slide off on a roundabout. It feels "tighter" for want of a better way of describing it.

Cheers, I think I get the idea.

It might help keep the car more rigid and delay the onset of rattles....my daily commute is over some rough rural roads, and my cars always end up rattly & squeaky!

Is it the sort of thing you need to tell your insurers about ?

Oh, and how much did it cost ?

This morning then I'll be spending £130 on a service, £30 on headlight covers (my car has picked up stonechips on the same bit of the leading edge of both front wings and the covers seem to protect that bit, so I'll eat hubmle pie about not liking them  ), a set of mudflaps (£45ish), touch-up paint and now a £50 strut brace. Arse!

Not really the right forum, but SMC Exeter have 2 Leon R's in at the mo, a black and a red.

Not bad at £50. I think my shopping list will be quite similar when I get mine, hopefully no need for touch-up paint though !

Thanks for the info.

Been getting alot less chips since I start using zymol regularly. The strut brace is probably the best performance mod you can do for your car for the least ££££, so go for it.

I would have to agree with prc. Its a must have item. I wouldn't have believed it before I fitted it how much of an improvement it makes. Steering is so much more precise.

I've been a Zymol user for longer than I've been a SEAT owner. I think it's the shape of the front since it's happened on both sides. I'm just about to wash it now, so I'll see if any more have appeared.

I'll order the strut brace on Monday as the missus was with me when I icked the car up this afternoon

My Rover had headlamp covers on when I bought it; I admit I don't think they look that great, but they've got to be better than forking out for new headlamps (esp as I'm getting Xenons on my new Ibiza).

I find they help slightly in winter too - because they don't get quite as hot as the headlamp glass, the salty crud doesn't accumulate *quite* as quickly.

I had a pair on my Scooby; they didn't look so tacked on as the Beezer ones. I also have some on my 944 as they get through the lenses in the bumper at a scary rate. Both the 944 ones are cracked and have bits missing now, so they've done their job. I just thought that the Ibiza ones looked especially stuck on, but it's better than rusty chips around the lights...

what do these light covers look like? I though they where a piece of plastic that was sort of glued (with some sort removeable glue thingy) to the existing headlight?

The xenon headlights should not be more expensive than the halogen ones. The expensive part is the bulb itself + balast to fire it.

Basically that's what they are. There's a piccy on the SEAT accessories site.

They just clip on. Very quick to remove if needed.
