Has anyone had a Hyperboost dump valve fitted to their car ? If so, are they as good as or better than the Forge items ? The reason I ask is that ebay have one in their auction .

Thanks a lot , neil .

The Hyperboost is a Stratmosphere / Milltek rip off the Forge valves.

Strat & Milltek unable to develope thier own products decided to copy many Forge parts ,valves, tie bars, cap covers, intercoolers etc.
I guess we should be flattered

Whats with all this "It's a copy of a Forge Valve" bollox? If's it's a copy, Forge can sue Strat for patent infringement! But it seems Forge never did that.. Why? Maybe because by the very nature of the way these DV's work, it's near impossible to make them significantly different from each other..
A Bailey DV is also much the same design. So who copied who?
Even the standard VAG valves are very similar. Main differences being that they are plastic and use a rubber 'spring' instead. But it's essentially still the same piston design.
As for the Hyperboost being 'unknown'.. I say Bollox to that too! Must be a good reason why AMD, one of the top VAG tuners in England, decided to stop recomending/fitting/selling Forge DV's and switch to Hyperboost DV's instead. Whats more, Many American's have been using the Hyperboost Valves long before they were available to us Brits. And so far it seems they have nothing but praise for them. So 'Unknown' It's certainly not.
And no, I'm not slagging off Forge. But this "It's a copy" rubbish, is just.. well.. complete Rubbish!

Back on topic though.. I fitted a Hyperboost DV to my Jabba'd Beetle 1.8T (228bhp). And it's been working as it should just perfectly.

You are assuming there is even a Patent which I doubt there is... hence copies of various products popping up around the place.

As for AmD and their choice of who to deal with etc.... is as much for commercial reasons as any I suspect. The arrangement between AmD and Miltek for example is way to "clicky" and price fixed in my opinion.

So long as the DV is reliable and fit for purpose, you always have a choice.
