Looking good, my only concern with the Ibiza is the alloys (no matter what you put on the car) look too small - why is this ?

Like the CC bits :D

the rear wheel arch seems to be quite large, probably explaining why the alloys always look small.

Looks good. That's the 16" Alloys you get in the seat catalogue.

You prob have to go to 18" to realy make the car stand out.

With standard 205/45/16s you would have to go for

17"

205/40/17 --- +4.9mm diameter
215/35/17 --- -8.6mm diameter
225/35/17 --- +0.07mm diameter
235/35/17 --- +0.21mm diameter

18" Are a bit more tricky as they are all 30 profile (i.e. scotch tape)and have never sen exotic tyre like these tho i belive they exist!!

215/30/18 --- -4.7mm
225/30/18 --- +1.3mm
235/30/18 --- +0.29mm

The difference + or - 8mm makes is about 1.5% in speedo error i.e. at 100mph you will record +/- 1.5mph

Not too much, esp as your own tyrs will reduce by about 10-12mm over there life!

What a boring life i live!!!
Cheers

Do you think an arch kit (if it were available) would do the trick ?

So that the space was less and it would also flare the arches slightly to line better with the new fat rubber. Just a thought, yes it happens now and then

What might really do the trick is lowering + some wheel spacers. Not saying that the flares wouldn't help either.

Nice, the colour coded strips I have had since September MUST be sprayed up soon!

Two notes...

1) You don't have climate control...is it an option on yours?

2) You have an armrest...is it any good?

[Edited because I'm useless!]

Rage

Is that the soft dash pack on there as well.

1)I have a semi-automatic climate control

2)My arm rest is comfortable, You can open it to put sunglasses, portable phone, money...

It's not a painting dash board job, you just stick it, it's a model only for ibiza 2002.

Looking at their website they don't appear to do RHD versions yet. However Halfords stock their products and have the MK2 and MK3 ibiza listed so its only a matter of time.

The centre section is ambidextrous(sp?) though, surely?

Rage
06-03-2003, 15:52
Unfortunately not the hazard lights are on the wrong side on LHD cars and there is a cut out section for the button http://www.prewoodec.de/images2/20433.jpg

Also the section that surrounds the light switch is round the wrong way.

prc

If there are only those 2 differences, then I'm sure they'll have one out in a short period of time.

Rage

Obviously most of the bits need reversing. however the bits that go around the gear stick and on the ashtray will fit fine. also the bit that goes around the edge of the not very useful pocket under the stereo.

Fen, these eyebrows might solve your problem with the leading edge of the bonnet. What do you think ?

Rage
07-03-2003, 22:29
They look about as tasteful as a leopard skin sofa.

Fen
07-03-2003, 22:29
For eyebrows they don't look half bad. The sacrificial leading edge idea isn't bad either. Unfortunately I now have a crater on the bonnet itself which no eyebrow / light protector etc. would have prevented.

No exhaust cut-out in the back valance tho

I like that one too. And it isn't a complete front end (so cheaper, presumably) without looking like a tacked on lump of tat. And it's not too Max Power.

Was wondering how you'd get to the towing eye hole though.

Fen
08-03-2003, 22:11
It's far enough over to be behind the mesh, isn't it?

slim_boy_fat
08-03-2003, 22:29
The front really does look good, but i prefer to look mundane in standard drag. All the better to blow away unsuspecting BMW Ci drivers....And watch them trying to catch up.....

Rage
08-03-2003, 23:27

Yep I think you might be right. I assume to 2 black dots to the upper sides of the mesh are screw holes to allow you to remove the mesh and get to the tow point.

From much investigation I have deduced that the UK distributor used to be RA-design. However their website no longer seems to exist and they aren't listed at all on the autotest website. The netherlands distributor will ship overseas but expect a hefty tax bill from customs. I'm going to talk to my friendly supplier of bits and see if they can get in contact with autotest and get set up as uk distributor.

Not true Simon. As long as it's from the EU, which it is, no customs!:D. Obviously, you'll be charged VAT though (at Holands rate).

edit:
Make sure you find out if the price already includes VAT. In Portugal the prices by law must already include VAT (@19%).

Nice.

That is pretty much the same interior as what I was thinking I would do to mine when I get it, except I'm going for black magic metallic as appoased to flashred.I might have to think of something else tho, don't want to be too similar.

I like the front grill too, but I think I would miss the S badge.

Cheers

Is that new lower front bumper a Seat part or a 3rd party one. Just asking cos MK Seat had a 130 with the same bumper at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago.

Tom B
15-06-2003, 19:38
Yes I was going to say that looks exactly the same at the SEAT UK demo car that was at Silverstone.

Apparently according to SEAT UK that bumper hasn't even got a part number as it's a prototype.
