Right, I have a company car (Leon 2003 Cupra 180bhp) that I want to go faster in. I think a chip is going to be the way to go, but as it's a company car I want to be able to do the following:

1. Make it go faster without dealers noticing (May invalidate the lease/warranty).

2. No bolt ons that are visible such as induction kits etc.

3. Don't want to spend huge amounts as in 3 years the car goes back and I won't have it anymore.

I know that there are several companies that produce chips, Revo, jabbasport, APR etc. Can anyone please post how much the basic chip with installation costs and how much gains you could be expecting. Also where these people are in the UK. Is it something I could do myself if I had it mail ordered? Web addresses would be useful.

Hope I'm not asking silly questions here?

Thanks in advance.

thats why i went for the upsoulte chip coz when it goes to the garage i just put the old chip back in and it only cost me £250 and the car is ALOT faster with the up chip in would'nt say its the best chip as the jabba one sounds good but it does the job

Have you got any performance figures on the chip, also where do you get it from? How easy is it to remove and replace?

Having had Upsolute on my old Leon & Revo on the R I'd say stick with Revo, so much better you wont beleive it. Plus Revo dont even take the ECU out. You really dont want to have to take the ECU out every time you go to the garage.

So I take it with the Revo, it's programmed with the ECU in and overwrites the system on the original chip? Or do you get both programs and can switch between the two? Is this detectable by the dealers. How much is the cost. Any web address?

Revo program via the Onboard diagnostics port which is below the ashtray at the front of the centre console.

You can either have just chipped mode or switchable via their SPS module which also plugs into the diags port. Dealer cannot tell its there (unless of course they drive it in chipped mode)

Give Richard Washbrook their Technical manager a call. Nice chap and very helpfull. Bear in mind they are MEGA busy though.. Not sure on prices but its not as cheap as Upsolute,... you will however get a rediculously quick car which from my personal experience I didn't with Upsolute.

I went APR last December. Really nice job. Improved acceleration indeed but can't say the same about top speed, will try again though, cause 150 mph on public roads isn't easy to do.
ECU has to be removed and you can switch between std and chipped mode anytime you like, using the Cruise Control buttons you also get. They claim 220HP using only SUL (98 RON). Plain UL can be used with std program only.
