Getting an alpine stereo to fit in my leon

Hi there, this is my first post on here, i brought a seat leon on thursday and decided to fit my alpine ipod headunit into the car i have removed the stock headunit and wired the alpine up it all works fine but its a really tight fit, i've moved all the wires out the way to make room but no joy, i don't think it's the wires, it seems like its the black triangle part at the back with the hole in it for the rubber bit on the stock stereo to fit into, is there any way that part can be removed to make more room.

Sounds to me like the wiring personally. The best way is to remove the glovebox so you can ease the wires into the gaps.
