I'm probably being a bit thick, but I had a look on the Revo Technik website as their product sounds perfect for me as my Leon is leased and still under warranty.
However the pricing has confused me, the MY02 Leon Cupra is listed as having the following available:
06A 906 032HN 02>SEAT LEON 1.8T 1+3 499.00
I read that SPS1 seems to be a case of selecting a program and uploading it to the ECU, however SPS3 has variable Boost pressures etc. Does this mean that for £499 you get SPS1 & 3 or does it mean that SPS1 is £499 and the functionality of SPS3 would be a further £499 or can you choose one or the other for the price?
I am sorry if it is clear to everyone else, I guess I would probably only want SPS1 as I don't trust myself to do any 'fine tuning' etc.

The way I read it it would appear you get both options i.e.1+3 for £499.
Can someome confirm this?
basic conversion to performance software is £499.
SPS 1+3 means that sps 1+3 are available for that car

Thanx- a lot clearer now-you are basically paying the extra £150 to allow you to switch between stock and performance(very neccesary I would say) and £250 to allow you to tweak the settings etc.
Bill, have you had this done- was it worth the money? Also, did you inform your insurance co. or do think that the whole point of the Revo option is get around the hassle/expense of having chipped the car and then having to be up front about it?
Surely you are paying for the fact that the mods are invisible?
I dont think Bill would mind me posting this on his behalf :)
Bill is not running REVO software, his car is a somewhat "special" conversion consisting of an assortment of new uprated "bits" taking his car into the realms of 330BHP, and mighty quick it sounds too.
However, Bill aka www.badger5.co.uk, is a REVO dealer and can offer you all the software and hardware upgrades you like.
As you state, the stealthy option is one which has its obvious* uses, however as REVO state on their website "the software is not designed nor implied to be used to defraud dealers/insurers of services." or words to that effect.
For the record, my mods are claimed to my insurers.
But note the * next to obvious in my post.

tryed the FAQ on the revo site but it dunt seem to load, but...if i got the REVO programme (£499+VAT) can i purchase the SPS1 or SPS3 at a later stage?

Point taken Saul-thanx for the info.
I've always been a bit wary of chipping the car, but if I did I would definitely tell my insurers, for sure.
I would be a little worried on the warranty front though and whether the additional code is visible to the dealers.
Once VAG realise that REVO are using unused memory to insert their code, which I think they are doing, surely all they will have to do is program the VAG-COM to check this.
This will surely invalidate any remaining warranty.
I will ask REVO about this on 2nd March at the meet if they are there. They will probably be able to fill me in properly on this.

First of all i don't think from what Revo have said it is detectable by the dealers, and even if it is how can they prove it's in use ?
The coat hanger in mouth style expression probably (though not conclusive proof)
From an insurance POV - declare it. If something very bad happens (you kill a small child for example) then you WANT insurance covering you.
Warranty - well, most good chips are undetectable to VAGCOM - this has been the case for physical chip swaps (e.g. Jabbasport) for a while. I don't know in REVO's case, but i suspect they've 'protected' the code from such enquiries. At the end of the day, if someone looks hard enough, they will find it - regardless of whether it's a physical chip swap or just new software. REVO *do* have a better product in it's stealthy nature, but it isn't going to be undetectable.
There's been discussions on modding/warranty before and as far as i could gather, unless the mod you've done has damaged the part that needs replacing there's no reason why they should get funny about it. Let's face it, changing you wheels is modding the car!
I think it's sensible to use someone who's professional and has a lot of experience with you car/engine for any sort of mod. This will always reduce warranty risk to some degree.
