Just talkin about climate control on Leon forum....thought I'd post this here just in case.....
You'll have noticed the Climate control won't produce any "flow" 'til the engine is approaching normal operating temperature (in full auto mode that is). This can take quite a while for us 'cos of the extremely high thermal efficiency of the TDI engine.
Tip ~ don't start your car on winter mornings an expect it to heat up at idle. It won't....
You need to give the engine an electrical load to "work against" ~ stick on all yer lights (fogs too), rear screen heater, climate on "demist" mode etc. {note: don't dazzle anyone though}
I wasn't sure I believed this when I read it at first, but my daily commute is always 3-4 miles followed by a queue for a big roundabout. If car has only heated to 65deg when I reach the back of the queue, it's still at 65deg when I hit the roundabout 10mins later (!).
