Well i dont have that many but declared them all and no change to the price. But what they did do was cover my wheels on a like for like basis. Well chaffed :)

what mods?
iirc upto 5% HP increase or so is free, then after that it goes up, you'll pay more to declare a 50bhp remap for example on a turbo, than declaring a K&N induction kit.

Wheels, up to an inch bigger than standard dont tend to make a big difference.

Its also down to the terms and conditions of the individual insurance company, for example adrian flux dont really care, but when i tried declaring coilovers at 17 to Norwich union, they tried to add £200

I'm with Admiral Multi-Car. I'm paying £399 fully comp with 9 years NCB for the S3 with chip (24% increase), suspension, brakes and exhaust declared. That was an extra £64 than without the mods.

For the Ibiza it is £241 TPFT with 2 years NCB and chip (22% increase), suspension, brakes, exhaust, rollcage and rollbars declared. Limited to 5000 miles. The mods increased the price by £80. Oh, I'm 33 BTW.

Make sure you get an agreed value done with the likes of adrian flux. Just declaring it does not mean they will pay out on mods

I'm 18. Mum's policy... Majority of mods declared (exhaust, security film, suspension, wheels)... I pay 800 a year...

theres a thing about technicality you need to watch out on that though.

I was speaking to a person who works with insurance, and they have the right to decline payout for a modified car on your parents name if its blatently obvious the main driver has nothing to do with the car other than to reduce the price of the policy.

The guy was telling me they failed to pay out on the basis the father (policy holder) was 52 and his son was 24 and it had a full bodykit/air ride.

What 52 year old uses that as theyre car for commuting.

So becareful mate.
