:-o shocking :-o but with a nice seatkit and some new style cupra wheels and some grills is the arches like on the new leons it could be a diffrent story the spy shot in masks can always give off the wrong preseption so dont jump your guns :)
the grill being that big cant look nice tho! look at it this way at least the front light arent steaming up yet

Looks like a cheap korean type thing.
This will drive prices of the MK4 Cupra down i hope.
But thats not nice at all. Will wait and see what the FR and Cupra look like. Hope they are better.
It really doesn't look very nice but it is still early so i think it may change abit hopefully for the better!!
I'm not commenting yet, will wait till a final model is on display.... and a three door one too. Might not look as bad.
that looks CRAP! think I'll be losing one of my Beeza's to a 'different' marque if thats the new offering..

word on the street is that the 5 door will be bigger than the 3 door ie same concept as audi a3 3door and 5door sportback, 5 door being built as a purpose 5 door with more space if you catch my drift

i hate hate hate the 'on the door' wingmirrors, what the HELL is that all about, it's WRONG. it's hard to tell though those wheels won't help, give it the engine from the golf gti and i'm sure we'd all get along just fine

I wouldn't be too hasty to condemn it - there's more clever disguising on there than I think most people realise....
The rear lights, rear doors, front doors and front end are all cleverly patched up if you look closely. Hard to tell what it really looks like....
Man, id rather be seen in a neoned fruitloops corsa than that! if i didnt have my mk4 cupra of course! See what the cupra version of the mk5 is like. But i bet it doesnt come close to the mk4. Looks like they've based it on the leon but made a dogs ear of it!
whoooaaaa, someone fecked up there, how big is that
looks like i won't be returning to an ibiza with that pig as the new mk5, Anyone seen any undisguised pics or mock ups based on those pics....
And i thought the new Mini Clubman was ugly, but that takes the biscuit

Absolutely vile. I looks as if it's been designed by a committee and they have piled every possible styling cue onto it. It's got the Leon's swooping swage line but that peters out after a few feet and is replaced by another line running through the door handles. There's no coherence or overall sense of design.
It even makes the new Fabia look stylish and that's quite an achievement.
SEAT, you've completely lost the plot and there really is no point in you trying to produce cars any more. They are not sporty, they are not stylish and they are no longer good value.
Makes me glad I order a mk4 Cupra tdi a couple of weeks ago. ;) Hopefully only 3 weeks to go!
The dealer did meantion to me that the FR and Cupra versions are unlikely to be out before the second half of next year.
Depends if they get held up finishing off and releasing the 3door i guess.
Horrid. Looks huge as well.
But, as has been said, it is well disguised and I will reserve my final judgement until proper pics are released.
I must also add my two pennies. What the hell happened?! It looks like a Far-Eastern take on the old Fabia! Hello, SEAT? 1997's Seoul just called, they want their car design back. :stick:

Perhaps I went a bit over the top with my earlier post. I've been looking at the photos again and trying to visualise them without the disguising.
It still does look a bit Korean – especially the front grille.
The back window is obviously a lot larger than it appears at the moment which will help.
I guess there is a little quarter light infront of the mirrors, which has been masked off. That will either make it look a bit MPV-like or lighten up the side appearance.
I can't make out what the profile of the back window is, as there is obviously some disguising behind the rear door at the top. That will affect the appearance a lot.
It appears huge at first glance but if you look at the driver in it it actually looks which cramped.
It will look much better with big wheels.
Hopefully there will soon be some photoshopped images with the disguise removed which will give us a better idea of what it actually looks like.
Still hate that swage line though.:(

Hmmm. I don't like it.
However I will await the unmasked version before passing final judgement.
The future does look grim though.

I'll wait to pass judgement too, except for the bump strips on the doors. I though the mk4 bump strips were stupidly low down the door and served no purpose, but is there any point having them on the mk5 if they are that low?
chris285
03-10-2007, 13:11
well it looks like a larger version as i can't see a 3 door being that size and the shots are of a 5 door
so far things don't look promising, i think the front looks ok but not keen on the rest
will reserve judgement till i see oficial pics though
will be interesting to see if they do the 5door / 3 door difference like the A3 cause at the moment its just too damn big. not to my tastes at all. Im holding off on judging the looks until its revealed though.

Don't think even Photoshop could make that beast look beautiful !
Will reserve judgement until when the Mk5 appears in showrooms across the country ;)
(for example the bumpers could be generic and not final / also the boot etc)
I can see theyre just being lazy and making a mini leon like all the car makers are doing. But why cant they hide the 5 doors back handles like on the leon??

I prefer the MK3s over the MK4s, and I now prefer the MK4s over the MK5s!!
:(
I will wait to see the final model before I decide. My plan is to change my mk4 next year and the mk5 was a possible option. If it still looks as bad once the masking is all removed, then I'm definitely going for the Audi A3 instead.

So, these cars have some tape, rubbing strips and graphics to disguise there form, but they do not appear to have any covers on the bodywork. This appears to be the sheet metal.
if you look at the front, the grille appears wider than on the Leon, more like the concept. The lower grille is also wider, with a outer edge that seems to run into the lights.
On the side, the window silhouette is very similar to the Leon/Altea etc. the way the hood blends into the a-pillar as well.
The dynamic line, from the Leon/Altea has been softened and runs over the wheelarch, fading on the front door. This in isolation (IMHO) is better surfacing that the current Leon.
However....there is another 'arc' over the rear wheel arch and it seems to be fighting, making the side a bit of a mess and unbalanced. reminds me of the Hyundai Accent! see:
At the rear, its tradtional SEAT. Looking at the images of the black car, it appears that the lights intersect into the tailgate.
Its quite a fat, tall car, inkeeping with its Fabia heritage, and on the evidence of these first pics, its doesnt really look auto emotion!

03-10-2007, 18:24
to me looks like mix of small BMW and Renault laguna tourer rear
FR & Cupra kit ain't gonna improve that
if the talk is of 3 & 5 door Ibiza.. why?
surely the Altea covers the 5 door sales?
:-o shocking :-o but with a nice seatkit and some new style cupra wheels and some grills is the arches like on the new leons it could be a diffrent story the spy shot in masks can always give off the wrong preseption so dont jump your guns :)

Yeah spyshots make all cars look crap. I can show you spy pics of the MK2 TT bmw's and mercs and in all of them they look like dogs. Even porsche ones look so shit. And then once they are officially revealed ina nice paintjob and alloys its a success :D
However im not too sure im happy about the car's new dimensions!

that's god awful to be fair!
i'll stick with me ol' mk4 ;)
interesting to see what the cupra looks like though!
First impressions....Frightening. As always I'll reserve further judgment until i see a final production car. But it's not a good look is it at the moment. And that's coming from a Mk2 Leon owner. :p

One of the best comments so far.
I'll wait for pictures of the finished car and a detailed list of specs before I comment.
The "let's shout it's crap brigade" need to be a little more patient before passing judgement.
Lets be honest the wheels alone don't help.
Is the design team for this also responsible for the Mk2 Leon?
I can't help thinking the bodywork seems to show similar influences.
Regards Guy.

Exactly, when the MK3 was shown, everyone with MK2's hated it, same with the MK4 over the MK3. This will be no different.
As muddyboots has said, its got alot more hidden than most people think. I remember seeing a thread for the MK4 release and most people on here hated it, saying "Why a 130bhp diesel, that will never sell" Oh dear... seems like the most popular engine in the Ibiza on this forum is a PD130!
Im surprised no one has picked up the engine selection that the first report mentions. According to them, its going to have the same engines as the current MK4, no 2.0 litre unites as all or the new 1.4 twincharger in the Golf??
I also remember some months ago now, even after the full pictures of the MK2 Leon were on display people hated it, yet that mood has changed with bodykits, alloys and powerful engines!
You have to remember guys, the spy shots are more than likely for a bottom of the range 1.2 with non OEM wheels on.
Look at the 1.6 Leon MK2 pictures when they first came out, then look at the FR/Cupra version? Look at a standard 1.2 S Ibiza MK4 next to the Cupra? Even look at the MK1 1.4 Leon against the LCR!!
Too quick to judge imho. Not that im going to buy one as they look HORRIBLE! j/k :)
Aye
Well said mate. It may well turn out to be a dog, but in the meantime its hard to pass judgement.
In disguised form, I think it has a touch of the 1 series...anyone?

Maybe all that tape around the wing mirrors & door close lines isn't a disguise at all - it's their attempts to reduce wind noise :)
Maybe all that tape around the wing mirrors & door close lines isn't a disguise at all - it's their attempts to reduce wind noise :)
Hehe, maybe it'll be an optional extra...
It would be rather odd for them to keep the old engines as VW themselves are phasing them out. Even the 2.0 diesel has a newer common rail version to replace it.
that hurts my syes looking at it,
glad its coming out though, i am looking at the mk4 fr next year, so hopefull it will be a bit cheeper now

Anyone got any theories what is hidden under the disguise behind the rear window? You can see it in the third photo. It can't be the curve of the window as it would be behind the door shut line. Perhaps it's a nice bit of 80s Japanese style plastic wood trim. That would set it off a treat.;)
Edit. Looking at it again my guess is a black triangular panel which follows the bottom line of the window. Perhaps with the hidden door handle for when they remove them from the back doors as per the new Leon. Wishful thinking!

Where are they testing those cars? Both links show cars in snowy conditions. The design doesn't look favourable, but we said that about the Mk2 Leon.

That sounds about right, the MK4 used to be easily confused with the Daewoo Lanos!
I don't know how, but it looks massive, but it doesn't look like a SEAT from side on, it looks like a car thats been designed and built by China, for China. That said, you can see the glass by the mirror and the glass on the rear quarter have been masked up, so once they've been pulled off, the lines will flow a lot better.
Reminds me of rimmer from red dwarf.
Looks like the car will lose its very distinctive UR Quattro style boxy wheel arches. Loved those on the current ibizas! :(
Right now im leaning towards a 2.0T Quattro TT (its not out yet) as my next car. Think this new ibiza will be a bubblier car to the MK4 with alteal/leonish styling cues!

well lets look at it like this.
Get a mk2 TT or a 3 series beemer in poverty spec and it will look tosh. Early porverty spec ibizas looked crap too. Stick some nice rims on it and get a sportier styled kit and it could very well look brill. We will soon find out though I suppose!
I hope the ibiza stays semi exclusive. I like it that hardly anyone has an ibiza.

Did I miss something? I thought it out-sold the Polo and Fabia...

world wide sales figures yes it probably does. Ibizas are everywhere in spain and greece. But in the UK there are more polos. Probably more ibizas than fabias though in the UK.
Polos themselves are semi exclusive I would say compared to the fiestas clios and corsas.

I hope they put a sticky at the top of the new mk5 section when they make it:
"HAHA you just bought a Mk5"
I think it might look good later. The mk2 leon were gash when i first saw it, now i like it.
The cover ups are quite successful, but I hate the swage lines - makes the car look like it's been thumped front and rear, and bent in the middle!
I'm reserving full judgement until I see the 3 door...

think this does have potesial dont be fooled by the cover up's
as i stated before some alloys a 3 door version bumpers spoiler ect and it will be a NICE motor all depends on engine!
I think engine wise the cupra will probably get the 1.8T again but a refreshed version with better efficiency.

Polos are overpriced though .Id guess that most Polo buyers get the 1.2 or 1.4 petrol where theres less difference in price with the Fabia or Ibiza and you get the VW name plus better refinement, quality materials etc. On the other hand Ive seen few Polo TD1 Sports compared to the equivalent Ibiza . Big difference in price .
Seat could do with improving things like refinement and ride quality on some of their models , at the end of the day more important than looks to many people .

Living in spain. Ill keep an eye out in case they seem to end up on the roads here first. But obviously this will be next year sometime.
Personally i dont think they look too bad. Would need to go look at one in a showroom rather than some spy photos or magazine shots.
They will be different, and just might need a bit of growing time.
way too high for me!! like the front end tho, looks like its had an identity crisis whether its a leon or an altea!

There 's a little bit about the spy shot car on the Autocar site here:
http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Seat-Ibiza/228558/
It's a bit of bummer if it doesn't go on sale until 2009 – my FR will be worth about £1000 by then.
They say it is the first VW product to be built on the all-new small car platform, which means it is different to the new Fabia!
Also, they comment on the 'angular styling' which is different to the Leon and Altea. I must admit it doesn't look at all like those two to me.

That VXR spyshot looks bang on to me. Take off the disguise, add on the twiddly bits and, voila, its a VXR. The body shape is identical.
I don't think the general outline of the Ibiza will be too different from the photos of the spy shot car.

I was under the impression reading What Car ? that the 'new' Ibiza was out next summer, and it will be on the same platform as the current Polo and Fabia . So is it just a facelift, with the real all-new Ibiza coming out in 2009 ?:blink:

I was under the same impression, so I'm confused as well. The Mk4 is already a bit long in the tooth and will look like a museum piece by 2009. Mind you it's not unknown for car magazines to make the occasional mistake.

7 years is a long time to run the current Ibiza model though, considering that the design is based on an already several generations old polo (I believe)!
The Rover 200 was introduced first in 1995, that chassis was used by MG Rover up until 2007. Peugeot ran the 206 first in 1997 also, that ran until 2007. It might be dragged on for a while yet.
Funny thing is, the Mk3 wasn't dragged out as much - but the Mk3 is more of a Mk2 Facelift than a new model - the Mk4 is completely different.

My boss has just bought a 57 plate 206 "Look"... very odd choice if you ask me :p.
in fairness if it looks likt the photoshop rash has done then slammed on some wide arse wheels it would look ok actually!
i reserve judgement until i actually see it in the metal i think
The facelift came in 2006 right? Then I would not expect the new ibiza to come untill early 2009. Cars usually go on for another 3 years after a facelift.

the thing is it's already had a facelift at the beginning of 2006... that & how advanced the prototype metal is - I'll wager 6 months ish from now
If its on an all new platform Id certainly consider it .

Id say a year from now at the earliest. Audi A1 mules are running around and apparently audi has worked with seat on that chassis, and its due mid 2009. I reckon the next ibiza will be here summer 2008.
And then once the cupra arrives my current car will be payed off and I shall be free to get one. :D

No more guesses. No more renderings. We have obtained the first official photos of the Audi Metroproject Quattro concept, believed to be the first version of the Audi A1.
In an earlier interview, Audi Technical Development chief Michael Dick said the A1 would be "manlier and sportier" than the MINI Cooper.
And he was right. This car has a sleek, shapely front-end that seems to form a menacing grin, and rear tail-lights that virtually stare down trailing motorists. This car rides on classy, lightweight, ten-spoke wheels. Inside the cabin, the Metroproject has impressively clean lines, what appears to be paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, and a built-in MP3 player. On top of everything else, you can seemingly keep track of this car's status on your mobile phone!
The Audi Metroproject Quattro, has a battery pack in visibly mounted in the boot, and lit in tranquil blue lights with a charge indicator on the side. We had heard rumor that this concept would be a hybrid, and it certainly seems that way.
The supermini Audi A1 should be available with a turbocharged gas engine, turbocharged diesel engine, ranging in size from 1.2 litres to 2.0 litres. A base model with an 80 horsepower, naturally aspirated 1.4 litre engine is also expected to hit showroom floors.
With a base price at-or-below $25,500, Audi hopes their MINI-killer will sell between 80,000 and 100,000 per year. Audi has done such a good job with the design of this car, that sales of the Fiat 500 might also be affected. Although previously expected at the Frankfurt show last September, the Audi Metroproject Quattro concept will be revealed to the public in person at 10:30 a.m. Tokyo time on October 24th, at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. Production on the Audi A1 is scheduled for 2009.
Dick also said, "When a father sits gladly in his daughter's car, then we've got it spot on."
Congratulations, Mr. Dick. We think you have it spot on.

p.s
audi have made a 150hp 1.4TFSI engine. Could possibly feature in the next beeza. Peak torque from 1600rpm.
Chassis wise the next beeza could share with the Audi A1, for outstanding handling dynamics is supplied by the sophisticated chassis design, comprising McPherson front suspension and four-link independent rear suspension.

Ohhhhh, it's not all 1.4 TFSI in that tho. I was reading an article on Auto Express about this car. It has the 1.4 TFSI up front powering the 2 front wheels, and an electro hybrid motor with over 320Nm of torque / 45BHP to the rear wheels. That will explain the high torque that is delivered low down. It is however only a concept vehicle, and will unfortunatly not make it to production with the electro-hybrid drive, instead opting for a 2.0 TFSI to power up the "hot hatch" 4WD one.
The full name for the car is the A1 Metroproject. According to the guy who test drove it, it flies to 62 in 7.1, has about 130 CO2, and, the power is instant when the electro-hybrid thingie kicks in. It all sounds very clever and techno, and I want one if just for it's uber gorgeous looks alone!

i second that.... but i got my hands on a 07 plate Fr while i can :)
Well the way I read it the engine itself pumps out 150hp and 240nm of torque, and the electric motor then adds another 40hp and 200nm of torque on top of that when its in use.
But seeing as maximum torque comes in at 1600rpm that would mean 440nm, meaning the engine itself would have to give out max torque at 1600rpm electric engine included or not. The electric engine itself is at full capacity at 1200rpm, whilst the engine is only giving out 80% max torque at that rpm!

Ditto - I jumped on the chance for a Cupra as soon as my finances were straightened out. Given the way the new beezer is shaping up, I may be keeping my Cupra for some time!

Thanks for clearing up the figures - I read over the article half asleep, and only took 40% of it in. Spent most of the time admiring the picture gallery
i read that the Ibiza was having the new 180bhp 1.4 tsi engine, using smaller cap in the smaller car as easier to drop emssions down thus bringing group avwerage down. there was talk of the new 1.8T going in em all but that seems to have been silenced.
Also that Audi, i'm sorry but did somebody shout Citroen C3 pluriel in the design room.

BMW is cacking themselves over audi. They are threatned by audi which is apparent enough by several press releases where BMW feel the need to address the situation where audi is catching up on them drastically. By current market prediction audi will have overtaken BMW by 2015.

hahahahahaahahaha classic
Some info i've gathered from some industry sources.
The next generation Ibiza will debut at next September’s Paris Motor Show, and will go on sale soon after the exhibition. (Though i'd expect that to mean early 2009 in the UK) Insiders say there will also be an Ecomotive variant of the new car. No mention of FR or Cupra, as with most SEAT models traditionally the hot ones tend to lag behind by up to 12-18 months before the UK see's them. So 2010 for an Ibiza Cupra.
We'll see.
The Ecomotive in Mk4 trim will be launched here in the UK , around Spring 2008
that's a lot longer than I'd expected them to drag on the aged mk4 platform

they have also stopped taking orders for some of the higher models now, surely that cant be helping there profit margin lol

If thats true then it will be launching at about the same time as the audi A1. That could be percieved as a very good sign! :D

Perhaps they are doing so to lower factory output as they are retooling the factories?
My local Steeler knows nothing about a new Ibiza. I mentioned it when I was in their earlier today, and wass met with a "It's being replaced?" - I see they are well informed!

Where'd you find this actually looks decent much more 3rd generation than 4th in there. Could do without the mirrors being mounted on the lower door as opposed to where they belong where they added that useless triangle excuss for a window. While were at it might as well enlarge the window in the C pillar to a usefull as well as esthetic contiuation or the existing theme.
All said though not a bad 1st attempt:think: Now give us the good news & confirm it's getting the new multilink rear setup going on the Audi A1 & not the carry over fabias' torsion beam.

We found two impressions about new Seat Ibiza. They look great: the car looks more like a competitor for Mini Copper S than for Opel Corsa or Peugeot 207. The wheelbase is short, big wheels (maybe 18” or 19”), overall design is absolutely sporty. We love this one but we think that the retail version will be different. Bigger, suitable for five passengers and about four metres long.
Under new Seat Ibiza’s bonnet we’ll find powerful Volkswagen petrol and diesel units: a great choice should be the upcoming 1.4 TFSI, developing 140HP and promising good consumptions.

New Polo is moving on up
The next-generation VW Polo will be bigger and better than ever – and Auto Express is first in the world to reveal how it will look
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_468/car_photo_234042_25.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:self.close%28%29;)
The Polo has freshened up – and we have the whole story as Volkswagen’s next-generation star sets its sights on returning to the top of the supermini class.
Bigger, better built and with an advanced engine range, the smart-looking small car will challenge for honours alongside tough new rivals such as Ford’s Fiesta – on sale later in 2008 – and Honda’s Jazz.
Following on from our pictures of the new VW Golf, it’s easy to see where the inspiration for the latest Polo’s styling has come from. It blends the taut bodywork of the family favourite with the intricate detailing of the recent up! concept car. The next Polo will be much chunkier than the current model with a more distinctive front end, featuring sporty headlights and a neat twin-slat grille. There’s a classy rising waistline, too, and the whole look is finished off by Tiguan-style tail-lamps.
Unlike Ford’s forthcoming Fiesta, the design is evolutionary – and that’s essential for maintaining the Polo’s current customer base.
Sitting on a modified version of the current model’s platform, but stretched to take the body length to four metres, the new Polo will be larger inside. It will also have a higher roof. This will leave room in the man-ufacturer’s line-up for a new little brother. Quality will leap forward with lots of soft-touch plastics and a slick dashboard design, further aping the Golf. And by fitting slimmer seats, the designers intend to create more legroom.
Although the suspension layout will be carried over, the Polo will get an electric power-steering system. Petrol engines will include a 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit developing 60bhp or 70bhp; an 85bhp 1.4 four-cylinder; and a 105bhp 1.2 super-turbo.
There will also be a smooth new 1.6-litre common-rail TDI diesel, tuned to produce 75bhp, 90bhp or 105bhp. A Bluemotion model, with an 80bhp 1.4-litre TDI unit, will be offered, too, and all powerplants will meet Euro V emissions regulations. At the top of the line-up, hot hatch fans will be excited by a new flagship GTI powered by a 170bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged TSI motor. Using a highly tuned chassis, the performance variant will take on the Renaultsport Clio 197 and Vauxhall Corsa VXR. But that’s not all. A diesel hot hatch is also anticipated, with a 135bhp TDI unit under the bonnet.
Most engines will get a six-speed manual gearbox but, for the first time, VW’s twin-clutch DSG semi-auto is to be an option on the Polo. Prices won’t change much over the current car, and sales will start in mid-2009 for the three and five-door models. A crossover Dune and a drop-top, inspired by Karmann’s concept car from this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, arrive shortly after.

Next polo is gonna be crap if it carries over the same suspension.

Great more weight and the same poncy sized engines. All these 'superminis' have got fatter and larger yet power has stayed the same :headhurt:
The Punto has the same 1.3 75BHP engine in that I had in my mk1 Punto yet has gained about 300kgs (probably, massive guess there!)
That looks the same size as the mk1/2 Golf!
looks a bit bland to me
I reckon it's longer to make room for a drop top ?

A boot on it? New Cordoba?
not sure.
I wonder if the 5 door will be a stubby boot, and the 3 door more 'sporty'
rather than just cutting 2 small doors into the gap where one big door used to be
Looks like they've put a fake rear end on it to me. Looks really wrong!
Also, whats with the front wheel arch being so much bigger than the rear one? I know they're bigger at the front on most cars but that looks way out of proportion!
Just thinking, look at the wing mirrors on the 2 cars m0rk. Completely different so not same car? Also lines down the doors are different too.
good point there, the top one is the Ibiza though, you can see the grille shape
The top one looks very alike the old Fabia?
Yes, would agree top one is the Ibiza.
i'd rather get in my nan than get in that new ibiza if thats what its gunna look like.
I was gunna get the know one at the end of my finance period but not now i've seen that.
Hopefully this isn't what is going to be the MK5.

Seat is planning to unveil the latest iteration of its Ibiza hatchback at next year’s Geneva Motor Show in March. The Ibiza is a crucial model in the Spanish carmaker’s lineup with sales of the current model reaching 117,963 for the first nine months of the year, roughly 40% of Seat’s total volume.
The new model will be available in both three and five door hatchback form. The three door version will arrive towards the end of next year, and according to dealers the car will have an almost coupe-like appearance.
Seat previewed its lineup for the next ten years at a dealer presentation, reports Automotive News. In 2009, Seat will replace its Toledo sedan with two all-new models, a midsized sports sedan and an estate. That same year Seat will also launch its first SUV model, which will take its styling from the Tribu concept vehicle.
Seat’s financial performance over the past 12 months has been better than expected. Last month officials revealed the carmaker will return to profitability this year, one year ahead of schedule. Last year its losses topped €62 million and the year before it lost €49 million.

Where'd you find this actually looks decent much more 3rd generation than 4th in there. Could do without the mirrors being mounted on the lower door as opposed to where they belong where they added that useless triangle excuses for a window. While were at it might as well enlarge the window in the C pillar to a useful as well as aesthetic continuation or the existing theme.
All said though not a bad 1st attempt:think: Now give us the good news & confirm it's getting the new multi-link rear setup going on the Audi A1 & not the carry over Fabias'' torsion beam.
This is the closest we've seen on here to what's coming!!!:coolthumb

Looks very much like a Leon, perhaps too similar.

Looks like it's made out of paper!
The car in the video is actually the new EcoMotive model. The 100% paper constuction makes it fully recycleable :)

I suppose on the FR and Cupra versions the trapezoid opening below the number plate will be the other way up like the hotter Leons. I'm trying to imagine it on the red car in the photo above.
It's all right but not very exciting.
How did this " :D " become this " " ?
think he was prowd of finding the pic!
Kindof thinking it looks a bit like the BMW 1 series now to be honest, especially as Irfan said it would be only available in 5 door to start....
if that recent pic up their is it then i like it from the front so far
think he was prowd of finding the pic!
Exactly! :D

Taken from Martin Ward in Fleet News 14/02/2008.
"Friday. Went to Ingolstadt, the home of Audi, to look at an early pre-pre-production Seat Ibiza, which goes on sale late July.
Seat is taking advantage of Audi's legendary skills in the art of producing cars with high build quality, and the Spanish company is determined to build this quality into its vehicles.
The new Ibiza will be launched as a five-door only in July, with a very stylish three-door Sports Coupé being revealed later this year.
The Sports Coupé certainly has the looks that will appeal to a younger audience, and if quality is as good as promised, with sensible pricing, Seat may be on to a winner."
Although there are no pictures, I was pleased to read that the quality should be improved (and about bloody time), and noted that the five-door didn't get a comment on the looks front. It probably looks unremarkable. I think it's a shame that the car will be little more than a re-body job like the Fabia. I really hope that there is more imagination on the engine front.
