I bought my ibiza with a stealth shelf with 250w pioneer 6x9's and to be fair they've done me alright over the last few years. now they are falling apart and the sound is pretty awfull.

Would I be best off replacing the 6x9's with some cheap replacements like these:

or would I be better off ditching the 6x9's and upgrading the 6x4's to something like this:

I'm using the standard headunit with no amp. Does this mean I should only buy 50w rms speakers?? I really don't understand!

Thanks, Jim

Would 80w rms speakers be ok using standard HU?

Id go for another set of 6x9's mate as the 6x4's are pretty shite no matter what power or make ones you get.

Im a big fan of the Vibe speakers apart from the QB69's (rectangle ones) so id recoomend some for sure. Altough i run 2x8" subs and a set of SA60 vibes (17cm) on the shelf and a set of the SA60's in the front doors. Gives a good all round sound rather than just having bass from the rear

cheers but should I be keeping the RMS rating to as near as 50w as possible? I suppose anything more is just overkill?

I'm useless at ICE!!

Are you still running off the standard Head unit jim? Forgot to mention mines all off a kenwood after market unit and all my speakers are amp'd.

I think you'l be fine with as much as 100w RMS tbh as i ran the SA60's on the standard head unit in my old ibiza (still mk3) and they worked a treat and they are rated at 90w RMS.
