Gonna get a new dump valve for my cupra, its currently got a forge one on it just now but it doesnt make any noise, im after something that makes a bit of noise when it dumps but not overly loud like a cossie or that. Any suggestions?
Get it remapped and add an open cone filter. Wooshtastic. :D

mines has been remapped, so would a k+n make it dump louder?
Yeah if your using a standard air box or you could get a Split-R from Forge as Forbez said.

get an open cone filter to get the whoosh, even better, just get open cone filter & splir valve, dependas on how much u wanna spend.
I would stay away from K&N, Ive heard things about them damaging the MAF Sensor. Get a JR Cone filter or somethign similar for about £40 and you'll soon get the sound.
My mrs has the forge 007 dv and it is louder than my split r valve

Pretty much the same, She has a jabba map, Samco TIP, Jabba Induction kit, Cold side Relocation kit for the dump valve and the 007 forge dv. Shes also got a downpipe and full exhaust system.
Ive got a P-torque Map, Split r, Forge TIP, Dynatwist filter (no heatsheild) and a catback system.
Dont get me wrong mine is loud buts different to hers, mine chirps where as hers whooshes all the time.
Im gonna get forge to have a look at it when I get my FMIC fitted, people say the chatter sound is bad but ive been convinced its just what my valve does, Ive tried so many different turns and clicks and it just chatters.
Ive got a clip of mine here but the sound quality is pretty poor so you cant really hear it well

Ill see what forge say when they hear it, could be my valve is dodgy? But then theres a few Leon drivers who run this and theres is the same:shrug:
Mines very loud. Bailey DV30 and BMC CDA. Its not the DV that creates the noise, its the filter setup.

So taking the heat shield off the dynatwist will make the dump louder and What effects would it have on the engine if i was to take it off?
I ran the dynatwist without the shield for ages. Flowed more g/s and sounded better.

Ive taken the heatshield off mine now, had it off about 3 months and its fine, made good power on the rolling road as well, yes it dumps louder

Had no probs mate, In fact Ive found it better with the heatsheild off:)
Heatshield off = slightly louder DV but more heatsoak (more noticable in the summer)

So would be recommended at this time of year then
Enclosed will always be better as the engine is always producing heat. But your less likely to experience any major heatsoak this time of year.
Wont cause any heatsoak. Its not an N/A.
Mine suffers from heatsoak in the summer when fitted with an open cone, probably due to the SMIC not bein able to cool the hot air thats drawn in by the open filter. If your taking in hot air from the engine bay you'll be relying more on your IC to cool the air, and if its not up to the job you'll get heatsoak.

Just seen your mods, you have FMIC so you should be ok in the summer:)

I very much doubt a couple of degrees more goin down your TIP will cause heatsoak as your turbo runs at silly temps, which then relies on your cooler to drop the charge temps.
Your IAT is on your manifold, which is after your turbo and after your IC so a couple more degrees goin down the TIP wont effect a thing.
Now running a side mount or crap IC will effect more on your heatsoak.
Ambient temps are up in summer anyway so your engine will run hotter as a result.

Was already going to lol
Will take a drive somewhere quiet tomorrow night to get a good sound clip of it.
Took the heat shield off an i can actually hear the induction kit now and boy does it suck! You can hear the suck almost as much as the dump lol

clip plz! see im trying to figure out what is the best combo in terms of sound and performance, coz ive heard for performance its best to keep the standard airbox and smooth it out with a green panel filter. so i guess if you have that then you are gonna need a deeper and louder sounding dump value?? (new to all this and trying to learn as much as poss. lol)
Hey,
I'm confused...
Which heatshield are you talking about now, because I would like to try that...
thanx

The heat shield on the green dynatwist filters but you have an open cone filter already so basically have the same thing mate
