how much extra if any does it drain your battery to have a DVD player (in dash with pop out screen)

is there longer lasting batteries?

Doesn't put any extra drain on it if you have the engine running...

Shouldn't cause that much of an issue, if you are parked up using your DVD player, for an hour at a time....

However, alternatives include...

1) Yes, you can purchase higher capacity car batteries. Halfrauds should stock 'em!

2) Buy an uprated/higher spec Alternator (more efficient/faster charging of main battery).

2) Bit extreme - but present in BIG Ice installs, install a 2nd car battery that feeds the Ice equipment. Runs in parallel with the first (so being charged while car is running), but means you use THAT battery to power your system rather than main battery. So no probs starting the car after a long film! ;)
