Read this in another post, apprently you can display your speed from the climate control display by pressing various buttons. I manages to chagne the temp displayed from Deg C to Faren, but not much else aprt from a small "0" when I pressed recirculate and Manual up together?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Press the Recirculation Button and the Temperature + or - button to access the codes.

This link gives you the info on the codes

Lee ~ pressing this combination automatically displays either your bank balance or the number of f4rts you've done in the car during that journey....can't remember which it is at the moment.

Did this today and my speedo seems to be way out. Travelling at 140km/h, the climate control reported 130-2km/h. Is this normal?

seems to be from what I have read and seen. Both my brothers and my own Cupra's both seem to be slight out. My Brothers is 2001model and mine is 2002 model.

That's the bolloc#s! Gonna try it on my Toledo tonight.

As for the discrepancy between speeds on climate display and speedo, I can re-create the same thing with the trip computer, too. Reset the average speed reading on trip computer while travelling at a steady speed using cruise control. When the trip computer updates/refreshes it registers a lower speed than speedo

Have to say happened to me as well. Was going on a steady speed and reseted the trip computer and it logged a difference of 20km/h. It is a significant difference, and I think it has to do with the fact that they did not set the diamter of the wheel right. What is worst on that case, I think that all calculations done from the trip computer are wrong. Would you say?

The speedo is known to be 5mph out at 142mph actual speed, so the speedo is reading 147, this is verified on my GPS and the climate control computer in speedo reading mode

It 's impressive, have to say. However, not all displays correspond to the ones with Audi. Any ideas of where to find the correct ones?

Another site where you can get some hints about the codes displayed in the climate control :
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Boulevard/8062/accodes.html

I also get a lesser reading on my climate control than on my speedo (Leon 20VT, 2001).
A friend with an Audi A3 1.6, gets greater readings than his speedo's.
So, I think it's used just as an approximate value for the correct adjustment of the climate control operation.

As I understood speedos on all cars show slightly too high speeds... if they showed too lower reading then you could think that your doing 33 in a 30 zone but your really doing say 38mph and then you get pulled over for speeding.

Alahambra speedo speed 60mph, my Laser gun certified accurate +/- 1 speed reading 54mph

Its much the same on most newish cars with new or nearly new tyre tread.

However mates Ford.. his speed 60mph my laser reading 65mph..... ouch...

OK, tried to get the climate control dianostics to work on my Ibiza but I couldn't get it to work. Has anyone else managed to get it to work on an Ibiza (It IS meant to work on the Ibiza too.... or at least thats what an old thread said.).

So...tried the recirculation and - or + temp buttons and all I could achieve was making the temp farenheit (sp?). Does this only work on some Leons???
