How does the ride quality of the coilovers compare to the eibach springs you had before? My car has an eibach pro kit and it's just too firm for the rough roads up here. Also it sits high at the back as did yours looking at that 2nd pic.

The eibach springs were good but buggared my shocks within 8k miles!
They were firm, but with better shocks they could have been better, that's why I went for coilovers - the need to go low was only available to me with coilovers.
The ride is firm with the coilovers compared to the springs but it takes the bumps better and handles sooooooo much better!!

They look mint i actually bought that guys original wheels off him, the 18s looked huge and it was the cleanest cupra ive ever seen , think he sold it a while back..he said the wheels cost a bomb !
Its just a shame what has happened to BBS.
Hope someone takes over and they can start making them again. Huge demand.

They are very similar, ish...

Wheels are one of the best bits... they make or break a car!
I'd stick with the vrs wheels. Dark wheels suit a red car.
Mirrors going gloss in a week or so, tried it with the 'FR' look mirrors - albeit they are my wheel colour but not laquered.
Should look good, will get a pic up when they are done.
Agree about the wheels, they look great in the sunlight, grey with green pearl :drool:

I'm really happy with the grunt from my remapped FR tdi, but that thing must be quicker than an effing rocket ship. :lol: Gis us a go. ;)

In gear is stupidly quick, still amazes me every time I go for a spin, and the noise in a tunnel is just :drool:

Well, new ish, will run around on them for a while as I kerbed one of my vRS wheels yesterday :cry: I have had 14 months of kerb free wheels! :(

Ad Lav I've noticed something....as you're looking at your car from the front, between the big centre grill and the left hand grill there is a black bit in this picture:

The red bit is the cover, in the top pic the car didn't have the cover as it wasn't on my order for another week... in that time I had it sprayed and fitted! :)

Ah! Alright! Cheers! Is there any difference between the FR and the other facelift bumpers? Also, are the facelift diesel/petrol bumpers different at all do you know? like for letting air to the SMIC
All new FR bumpers are the same, the Sport, Formula Sport and FR have same bumper just different honeycomb inserts iirc
Cupra is different again.
FR petrol/diesel have SMIC in same place.

I knew Cupra was different. Did they change the Cupra bumpers at all when they facelifted the rest?
Nope, stayed the same, they just put some extra badges on and changed the interior a bit - steering wheel etc

What you doing with the old exhaust? Does is sit flush with the bumper?
Old exhuast is in the shed in the Milltek wrapping! :)
It sits about flush with the rear valance, lovely deep rumbly sound now :D

To be honest the only thing that I didn't like about your car before was the exhaust. Didn't look right. Now it looks perfect. :) We all know you saw my exhausts and just couldn't resist to get the same. ;) (but better cos yours is a Milltek. :()
Looks much better.
Must sound the doggies aswell.
The old exhaust lined up with the old bumper perfectly, then was a bit 'off' to put it politely, now it looks pukka :)
I'm not saying 'I'm finished' yet though :D
Does sound great for a diesel!
Even if you say youve finished, you will find something else. :lol:
Dont know what else you could do though. Think youve covered everything so far.

Got my BBS rims back from refurb, they're being painted soon in same colour as vRS alloys, then the vRS alloys changing colour :)
twin jets look great, think when i get my exhaust i'll go for the oval tip.
Is the system a cat back? is there any point in going for a de-cat?
I went for cat-back, sounds and looks great.
De-cat makes it louder and smokier...

Come across a slight problem... been told the BBS wheels don't fit over my brakes!! :doh:
Guy with a Fabia vRS tried some on apparently, will wait and see though! If they don't I need some wheels sharp-ish as my vRS are booked in for a refurb!!

I will get round to it asap, when I get a chance to drive and get a mate to video it! You'll know when I do...
On the plus side, got some new wheels that fit over the brakes!! The BBS ones don't fit so have swapped them for something a bit different!!
Hopefully fitting in 2 weeks or so and my trial vRS wheel is ready! :)

Well, after a trial fit they're off the list! Damn offsets too low to start with, would be running ET9 and ET14 - which is not good!! Major rubbig issues - back to the drawing board!!

for cheap 18" tyres check out the falkens.. FK452s i think, a lot of the cupra R boys use them and are chuffed with them, were about £60 a corner if i remember rightly....

we tried the 18" CHs on yesterday - i'll not say too much until the photos are up (Stuart, that's a REALLY big hint!) but it was a laugh getting them on... apparently et30 + 20mm spacers wont go in the arch... pffft!

These BBS CH's are 18 x 8.5 ET30.
They sit on the rears fine but fronts is a no no!! They need to be 18 x 8 with a higher ET and skinny tyres!!

We only fitted one side though, good job as the front wheel wouldn't turn! Too low!

vRS alloys were off a guy with a Skoda Octavia on Briskoda - around £600 inc tyres.
Colour coding was done at my local bodyshop - £40-£60, depends if you buy new mouldings.
LCR splitter was from the dealers - £20 and the grill was from Big Boys Toys - £20.

why are you not doing the cupra replica look? it always looks better than these silly aftermarket bodges you are using... you'll be using stretched tyres next, and we all know how dangerous they are!
