Those mods look pretty cool, but the price when you get above about 260bhp is just way too much!
I thought you could get 260-280bhp by just upgrading to a K04 (And an accompanying chip), and bigger bore pipes... price should cost any more than about £2000 (Dpending on how much the chip costs).

Have you seen all the engine mods they do for the 1.8T on http://www.audituning.com ???

I thought the 330bhp for the Ibiza was amazing, but they tune the poor little 1.8T in the golf upto 420bhp!!!!! and then i thought i'd look at the skoda stuff just to see what they could do.... and get this, they recon they can tune the 1.8T in the Octavia to 550bhp!!!!!!!! Insane!

and if they can do it to a Golf or a Skoda then they should be able to do it to an Ibiza... no price though!

From looking at those sites it appears a decent cold air induction setup could release a good further 10bhp at least on a 200+bhp engine. Added to this the induction noise (we NEED that) and it becomes the logical next step for all of us.
Trouble is any alteration from standard could screw the MAF sensor and would blow our warranty.

Presumably Dahlback Racing have tested these air filters on an Ibiza, (are they oil free?) anyway the Golf 1.8T suffers the same problem so if it works on one it should work on the other (in theory).
I really don't want to be a guinea pig, until several people in the UK get induction kits running reliably with no nasty side effects I'd be reluctant to be the first.
I know RSD will tell us to leave the stock paper one in, and so do AmD as far as I know. I'm sure other tuning companies will be trying to sell induction kits for our cars, its finding one you can trust thats done shitloads of testing over a long period.
Maybe worth dropping Dahlback Racing an email to see whether they have encountered any problems at all.

Whats your feelings on this Bill/Ben/whoever else?

There are several people with Golf 1.8T's in the US fitting these cold air induction kits... and they do not report any downsides from what I have read on the VWVortex 1.8T forum. The installation is different on the Ibiza, compared to the Golf (Leon) so as for a kit for Ibiza is concerned I would want to see one.
Dahlback racing could be contacted to ask said question.
If I get a mo I'll ask.

I am having one of those induction kits that puts the air filter in the front left wing on my leon so will keep you all informed as to how it goes! (3rd dec)

Good luck and lets us know how it goes.... if its any good then i might consider it.

No chance of a dyno plot before and after is there? Do they own a Rolling Road? If so then you could probably blag a free session as you are the Guinea Pig.... they will probably want the results for themselves too.

Dont think they have got an RR, but i can switch back and forth between lpg/petrol at the flick of a switch afterwards, and can switch my upsolute chip for the standard one afterwards too, so plenty of opportunities to do RR sessions after the conversion!!
