Mine has started doing that too. Must be cold weather or something. Making only my throttle pedal rubber squeak. Bloody annoying. Where abouts in Somerset are you?

So here we are. I have been bought a set of springs for my little Ibiza, by my better half, and we have a house:D

So my orignal plans are coming a little bit closer, however I think i will try to get a standard exhaust and cover it as I now have a tow bar fitted.

Will post pics as and when the springs are fitted, waiting for better weather and Ill be out fitting.

Well I started to take the car apart this morining, but hit a small problem, the drop link bolt was stuck and I had a torx bit that wasnt up to the job, so I will be off to pick up a more industrial bit later.

I measured the distance from the ground to the body work at the center of each wheel and these are my findings:

Front 62cm 62cm
Rear 63.5cm 64cm

So fairly level to start, I will take readings once lowered and then after about a week to see if its any different.

So here are the before shots (a little dirty, sorry).

Current mods: EBC Green stuff and groved discs all round, LCR splitter, FR Mirror covers, Tow bar, 20mm spacers, exhaust trim.

Question is......has anyone tried front spacers, only thinking of 5mm but would just pop the wheels in to the arch a bit.

Thanks

I think t-spark had fitted small spacers to his. The only thing is it obviously adjusts turning circles and stuff. I know a lot of Leon lads use spacers to fit the big Brembo brake kit behind. :)

Well today was the day, spring have been fitted, used various guilds and peoples own help, along with the Fabia haynes manual.

Here are a few pictures of the springs new and old, no pictures of the car yet in completed state:

Fronts, new vs old:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/DSC01921.jpg

Rears:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/DSC01918.jpg

Rear before, but during removal:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/DSC01916.jpg

after:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/DSC01917.jpg

and front before but no after shot:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/DSC01919.jpg

Current readings to the wheel arch are now:

Front both 61cm
Rear both 62.5cm

so a difference of 1 - 1.5 cm at the moment. I will update in a week to 10 days with any further results.

also they dont clash with the coloure of the car:D

Very similar to before. Feels slightly sharper around corners. will give it a couple of weeks and then get the tracking done.

Going to see it I can hide the exhaust next. Have had the correct bumper part for months but not looked in to it yet, dont like having a wonky pipe out the back.

After:

Again sorry not clean, wether + biulding site = dirty:D

Also I took some time and removed the exhaust trim and covered, have had the parts floating arround for months and the finished look.....

well like a standard ibiza, but with the tow bar the exhaust didnt look right.

Well no real update, house take most of the spare cash these days

But today saw me using my christmas prezzi, my new snow form lance. Still need to tweek the mixture, but in between the rain I managed to get up to wash the car, while I was there, thought I would wash my grandmothers as well.

Sorry only the one photo, it got dark and only had my phone . But the ibiza is now tucked up for the night in the garage:)

I think I saw this somewhere on here. I would like to use black vinyl on the small bits between the number plate on the front, as this photoshopped pic shows:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/blackbumper.jpg

or to include the bottom lip on the bumper too:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/blackbumper1.jpg

Does anyone know what the smallest amout of vinyl is you can buy. What colour should I use, gloss/matt black. I am heading toward the matt but want a similar finish to the black plastic on the bumper or something else (silver to match the FR covers)?

We have a direct link to poilce if needed, but main point is to keep traffic moving, as best we can.

We have taken over most of the roles that the police did on the motorways, ie stopping and checking broken down vehicles, picking up debris (car parts, etc), reporting defects and so on.

I look closely for SCN stickers in SEAT's.

Well I ordered some vinyl from ebay (£5 inc P&P):) and it arrived, couldn’t wait to get stuck in to putting it on behind the number plate. I changed my mind and decided not to put any on the bottom lip of the bumper. Here are a few before pictures of the removal of the number plate, surround and then gave the area a quick clean and clay to remove any contaminants:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_0980.jpg

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_0981.jpg

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_0982.jpg

I had already cut out the vinyl so I used soapy water (as a lubricant) and applied it, looked a bit like this:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_0985.jpg

I wasn’t too bothered about the large bubble on the right as that was where the number plate screw went. However after sitting there trying to get it to stick I ran out of time and had to put the plate back on, at this time I was pleased with the result:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_0987.jpg

On returning to the car the following day, I noticed that the vinyl had not stuck to the body. I removed plate and surround and started again. But while standing there I thought to myself could I get to the grill and do the “S” badge. So I gave it a go.

I managed to squeeze my had in and unclip the grill, removed the “S” badge and started to apply vinyl. Once the “S” was done I go carried away and did the chrome around the grill.

I then went back to the garage and put on the vinyl behind the number plate, this time a different method. I used screen wash to prep the area and didn’t used any soapy water. Went on better than the 1st lot and here is the results of a couple hours work:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w248/josh263uk/IMG_1000.jpg
:D:D

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

looks good mate, lot better than the first attempt looked like you cut it too short at the top corners (dunno if it had just slipped)

S badge and crome look good as well top work :)

edit - i think if you have some left over then the bottom lip and down the side of the grill would look good as well. If not just remove it and the whole wrap was a 5er so not much to lose :)

Just noticed once I had uploaded, if I have enough left and a bit of time ill adjust it, but I think when stood looking it cant be seen:whistle:

Id like to do the rear S badge, does it come apart in the same way? Ill have to wait on that though as I cant get in the boot the handle is knackered, going to Seat tomorrow to fix (for the 2nd time) i hope, at least the warranty comes in handy for some things
