Mines in there thursday for a sevice and fix a handfull of niggles
and the blown coil(s)...
Pissed off, you bet.

My refueling problem just wont go away!!
(15 minutes to fill a full tank)
Wondering if they will replace the coil(s) with the same prone to
failure type?

Deejay,

I was wondering if you have tried turning the fuel hose to 9 oclock when you put it in? we have had a big problem with getting fuel in ours at any speed - this seems to have fixed the problem - let me know if it works.

Hi laura,
Dont meen to b rude ,but i am absolutly pi**ed off with seat over this
matter and starting to rue ever switching from Veedubs to Seat...

I have tried every concievable method to fill me motor ,all to no avail!!
SEAT have looked at this twice under warrenty,2nd time i took a rep
out with us to 4 different fueling stations all did the same, clicks
off after 3 seconds!
rep left red faced:redface:

I am now however told there is a design fault with ibiza's regarding
this issue, the fuel line from the neck to the tank turns a very sharp
radius bend therefore splashing back fuel to the fuel gun and shutting off supply!

And whats seats response to this::think:
well pretty much the same as with the Coilpack problem,
(which coinsidently my car is undriveable from)

Any ideas anyone?

Danny

Tell me about it!
well it should be back on the road friday fingers crossed which coincidently will make a great birthday present for me
(24 on friday, forward all presents to this address!)

My car is more or less the way I want it now, been saying that for ages
though but will have to stop spending money due to me wanting a house!

Just got to complete the audio install, quite fancy having SQ+ (http://www.sqplus.com) finishing
my install next ,but at near £2000 for what I want, think i'll do it myself.

Q. Is it you with the sweet ice install (blue alacantara)?

Rage

Yep thats me. You should have asked about it earlier when at revo I could have shown it off.

Hit me in the head with a shovel, thats you, sorry:hammer:

I find it difficult as it is remembering everyones names let
alone forum names...everyone should have there real name on each
post

Nice motor anyways,
any more pics of the boot install (how to guide)?

Do you think they mind us talking about non revo issues in there
section!!

As we're both paying customers I'm sure they'll tolerate a bit of OT chatter.

I've got a few other pics of the install going in not many though. I could knock up a how-to guide if you want.

Deejay

Yep sounds good! (no pun intended)

why dont you get something on the "how to guide" bit of the site?

better still I could leave you my car keys, a roll of alacantara
and some MDF and set you to work!

I didn't do the Alcantara. I gave it to my local ICE dealer for that part and watched them swear and curse that I had chosen to have it trimmed like that. I'm fairly handy with a jigsaw and MDF though.

Hi Danny,

Couple of years ago I had an Alfa 145 (company crap car) which had the same problem. Fueling it up had to be done very careful as it either would shut off after 3 or 4 seconds if you squeezed the trigger to hard or (even better) it wouldn't shut off at all when it
was almost full and would cough up some fuel in your direction!

Took it 4 times to the dealer and the only thing they could do/advise
is to not put the fuelnozzle in completely when I filled it up.
However, on the 4th time they also cleared out the small air return
line which goes from the fuel cap to the tank and this helped a lot.

Cheers,
GJ.

I've bought 2 cars from Lookers and had them both serviced there. They are/were both modified, especially my old Cupra which had quite a few bolt on mods and I never once had any problem whatsoever over warranty claims. I've even had dump valves replaced under warranty when it was obvious my car was modded and chipped.

I've even got a REVO sticker in the back window in my R and have got it permanently set to the SPS3 program with Optimax timing and still no probs.

I've know them fairly well now and I have always found them good and fair to deal with.

Cheers everyone,
Re: fuel prob
Well if it is still happening after friday I may have a look myself,
I was talking to Revo Kev(Aka kev hall)about this and he seems to
think its a simple case of adjusting something in the fuel line!

But surely this aint the answer!

Re:lookers
I have never really had any probs with them too psrob, its just with the car!!:laff:
Last time it was serviced there no probs, even gave then my own oil
to put in. car was slightly modded then too!

However my car is now heavily modded,so just maybe just a bit weary!

I had the same problem after the tank had been removed to weld in my cage mounts, it turned out that the anti syphoning device had become dislodged and was sticking, the guys who fitted my cage realigned it and I've had no problems since. Whether or not that's the same problem that you guys have I'm not sure.
