Since I pretty much have the same setup, I was wondering if you guys experience ocassional brake fade ?

It seems to be getting worse. Not sure if its the pads being close to gone?

I have some Tarox G88 disks and Pagid FR pads for a 150bhp V5.

Bought in error by a friend.

Would these be of interest to you?

Thanks Bill:D
I think we spoke of this a while back??? If I remember correctly your friend has the 288mm Tarox discs. I have already upgraded to 312mm and might even up it to 13" 2 piece rotor available from ecs tuning in the States.
Actually I was gonna e-mail U. I've seen on the badger site the brembos, was wondering if your planning anything for the leon/toledo crowd:D :D Please:D :D

Getting worried as the car isn't even Revo'd yet! Will be next week though.

Never had a problem with brake fade, yet - Disks are really rather large on the V5 170 anyway - one of the few cars at this level I've ever seen with vented disks front and back! - stepping down to lesser vehicles - causes me grief easy to misjudge amount of pressure requred to stop.

Only had to stop manically once from speed and there was no sign of fade just lots of smell, noise and nearly a scary stain - I'm positive I'd have hit the bl**dy JCB if I'd been in any of my previous cars!!!!

I'd check that the disks/pads aren't glazed or scored in any way - I think you can get harder compound pads as replacements!

Thanks for the info, tracked it down to pads as they are pretty much shot. Will be upgrading to Pagid pads next.
I was lucky to be able to pick up the same setup as you have on the v5 (very hard to find v5s hear in Portugal). Front brakes are not a problem as you can pick them up from audi TT and Leon cupras. Still looking for a rear axle off a V5 for a friend.
