View Full Version : Selling Bora for aa Toledo.. advice needed
Hi,
I am selling my Bora, and need to get a replacement...
the toledo is essentially a cheaper version with different body and interior.
I havent test driven one as yet, though will be looking at the V5 second hand...
any tips for what to look for, value? Spec? Problems? with this model.
much appreciate it,
Inaam
Hi there,
Haven't driven the V5s but I can tell some of the differences between the toledo and bora (I've have driven a bora quite a few times).
the good
- the toledo is more spacious, for tall drivers at least.
- IMO the suspension is a bit better on the toledo.
the bad
- the toledo is a bit noiser (could use a bit better soundproofing, especially in the boot)
- Missing some chi-chi items like lights in the sun guards
- Missing HID headlights (this might not be a week point for most, but it was for me).
That's all I can remember right now. :)
Have a look at my review at http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13882

I saw and drove a V5 today, a black one with the ecru trim, it was filthy though and looked really grubby... also had no sat nav but had foldy mirrors...
which are now standard on the new V5 as the one in the dealer had them.
Anyway, took it for a longish spin, good comfy seats and well specced. As i have a new Bora anyway, i couldnt help but compare and had to remind myself of the price differences... but the Bora may not be to many ppl's taste and cost loads more, I just prefer my leather recaros - stronger tougher leather than the V5, though Alcantara is lovely. Also the xenons and the blue dash of the bora is lovely...
still, i am also thinking about a platinum one they will have (v5 that is) and also an MG ZT though the less powerful 160+.
Otherwise, as the Bora is still very new, it prob isnt worth the trade just to access funds, in which case i wll keep it and get any scratches / wheels sorted.

Just a few other points on V5
It is quieter than the other models and with decent tyres F1's very quiet cruising. Seats on V5 are great very comfortable and adjustable.
Has all the extras (including memory seats/mirrors if 1999 - 2002 model - neat keyfob operation of stored memory positions - each keyfob can be programmed for a different memory set)
Great sounding
Good road holding
Good performance - a really subtle 'Q' car.
Better looks than Bora (I think:D )
