View Full Version : Brembo kit for the Leon Cupra
Through a snippet of info found on the SE site, I can get hold of a Brembo GT Junior kit comprising of,
2 x 323mm x 28mm 1-pc disks
2 x Brembo 4-pot calipers
Set of brake pads
Mounting brackets + bolts
2 x steel braided hoses
all for the pricely sum of £762 inc vat & delivery.
A couple of questions while I resist the temptation to dig out the credit card,
1. is the brembo set-up as good as people make out?
2. does anyone know if the 4-pot caliper will fit under the Cupra4 alloy wheel without the need for spacers?
i *think* they need 18's as euro CR's need 18's as an option to take the brembo's
are they any better? yes - but then I wasn't underbraked in any Leon 20VT's (for once)
a change of discs, pads fluids will see you considerably better off & 95% of the way between the two.
HHHmmmmm
Was thinking of possibly the same setup or maybe the porsche boxster setup using standard brake rotors. Don't know why, but I seem to be experiencing more brake fade now than I was before. Have been pushing it a bit more though. If I actually upgraded the suspension springs I'd also probably get better braking..??? Let me know what you descide.. maybe a group buy, if we can get a few more guys.
I've got 2 threads going:

I'm going the Boxter caliper route when my brake pads are worn.
I've had the brembo setup on my Beezer and it's very good but as you say it can be done cheaper and i think just as good.....
BTW a group buy would be a good idea..
Agree with the group buy.
What worries me the most is that I haven't Revo'd yet and brake fade is increasing.
One question that I put up on the toledo forums, is it possible the the higher fade I'm experiencing is due to the pads being pretty much shot?
Just one thing vrsix_,
where are you picking up the boxster calipers and equipment. I wish it was just buying the boxster caliper and fitting it on, but you need a specially made caliper bracket.
I think the porsche caliper is the easy part....
My cousin ownes a machine shop, he makes precision parts for a big company.
So that's gonna be the challenge i think....
