OK guys please help! Especially Revo as it was done today!!!

I have attached a picture and the red arrow is pointing to the rubber hose that popped off tonight when I put my foot down…

There was a couple of loud chirping noise and I lost all power. Engine stalled!

Pulled over straight away…

Opened bonnet noticed straight away the hose had come off…

Put it back on as best as I could until I got home 2 miles away.

Took it really easy and the ESP light stayed on! Why?

Got home and cleaned off some oil that was on and around the connection! IS there supposed to be any oil around there?

Connected up again and turned on the ignition and it started ok!
Light went off!

What happened and will everything be ok and should I take it to the dealer?

Darren,

My best guess is that the clamp wasn't tightened properly.
This is the pipe towards the IC and as the Revo program alters
the boost it means higher pressure will be inside this pipe
as well so this would account for it popping off.
Make sure it is clean and tighten it properly (be careful not
to overtighten it!).
As long as you pulled over straight away and no foreign objects
have been sucked into the IC (or worse the turbo) you should
be ok.
I'm not sure how much oil there should or shouldn't be in that
spot so maybe a tech can answer this (although I've noticed oil
debris inside most used IC's).

Cheers,
GJ.

Having just replaced my IC with a FOrge one, the old IC, has reminants of oil in it, it smells oily and has the residue around the exits.

Shouldn't worry, you've pulled over and swiftly rectified it, seems the high boost has just blown the pipe off, maybe the clip was not tight? Or if its a non jubilee type maybe needs replacing by dealer if its gone slack.

I went for a good run with Mark on Saturday after we fitted my new IC just to check that this didn't happen to me.

Seems to me the weakest link is the clamp on the pipe, and it may need replacing, to prevent it from happening again.

Cheers mark;)

Hope I can rest easy tonight and not work myself up to much with worry!

I just ain't having much luck...

Will there be errors in my ECU ?

As it's only the trial software I don't think the misses is gonna go for it and let me spend £500 on it having it full time!
She has already said " I told you to leave it alone"
I am feeling a wee bit gutted

Is it true that JABBA run a lower boost pressure than REVO?

HOW MUCH R THE FORGE IC PIPES?

dear darren , dont worry.

had the same exact problem. installed me new boost gauge and fancied seeing the needle at 1 bar with all gears!at some point after 10 km driving wto and 1 bar pressure all over, the ic pipe burst & loss of power. you may have noticed that you would turn the ignition on but the revs would not keep up at 850 rpm and the engine would stall. this is due to loss of pressure.

i found out the dealer had not done good job fitting the clip after having taken the whole engine apart for clutch replacement and it popped. (very nasty busines, you will see your car in pieces if you need one on a beezer).

i think jubilee clip is the answer to the problem although existing one can still be refitted properly to secure against the metal side.

funny bit about the story is that when i refitted, it still was not a good fit, so I could hear blow-off valve like noises as pressure was relieving and was quite happy for a while, until it came off again:) eheheheh

When I fitted it on the roadside it was pitch black and I didn’t do it very well and I could here it wasn’t right so I took it real easy until I got home.
Boy was I panicking! Thought I had blown it up!

Cleaned up the connection and fitted it nice and secure!

It felt really good on the way to work!

I have spoken to Revo and mine is the third Leon Cupra R that this has happened to!

I had this happen on a company Rover 420tdi I had once when mine was in for a service. Car had 80 miles on it, I accelerate out of the office car park and POP off comes the turbo pipe.

Took it back to the local Rover dealers who then proceeded to look at everything but what I told them the problem was... tw*ts.:hammer: ECU light will have been on due to negative manifold pressure i.e. no boost and hence when you refitted the pipe it went off.

Jabba can run whatever boost pressure you want up to the safety limits of your engine. But obviuosly for big number gains you wil have to wind up the boost.

Hello Darren... (saw your PM)
So long as the pipe is now secured, and it clearly was'nt from the factory else it would'nt have blown off, then all is well. You may have a logged error code, which might reset after a battery disconnect & reconnect. VAG-COM may confirm if this is a logged error if you know someone with this software.

Some error's are erased by the battery off/on, ign on but no engine start procedure.. I am not sure if this one clears this way tho.

Hope this helps.
regards
Bill
