Monday morning I was coming off a roundabout on to a great stretch of dual carriageway for blowing away the cobwebs. This damn car transporter had decided he was going to sit in the right-hand lane though. After plenty of flashing didn't get his attention, I decided an undertake was the only action left open to me. A glance in the rear view mirror, and there's an Audi S3 straddling both lanes behind me, but I had plenty of space to make the undertake, so went for it.
Cleared the transporter, overtook a Polo, another glance in my mirrors, and the S3 is sitting about an inch off my bootlid! :eek:
Plant foot, then think "hmm, S3, might need a bit more", so drop a cog. 3rd gear, red line, pulled out a few feet; 4th gear, red line, not gaining much; 5th gear, bugger me, he's not shifting! Space to move over, so I let him pass. He just swooshes past.
There on the tail is a nice big "REVO"!! Ahh, that would explain it methinks :D I don't know what power he had, but it really shifted! Nice!

I assume you were in the Leon not the VX220.
When I was @ revo last friday,one of the lads who works at there
has an S3..........perhaps your answer!!!
He said "quote-god its quick"..

I have got about an hour left on my trial and haven't managed to come accross anyone who wanted to play ;)
If I can raise the cash I will definatly get it done if not it's going to have to be a credit card job:( can't live without it now im affraid!

it'd be around 265bhp/287ftlb, very similar power to a Revo'd Leon R.
We've done a couple here recently, I'll vouch for the fact that they aren't slow!

Does the revo stickers come free with the software upgrade?
If so you should supply 2!:)
1st sticker saying "oveR" for the front so people can read it in there mirrors:D
2nd A Revo on for the Rear for obvious reasons

You could always stick an internal sticker on the exterior at the front, this would have the desired effect!;)

Nope, VX220 (I don't have the Leon any more).
The VX220 is a sprint and cross-country master, not a 'bahn-stormer like a Leon or S3. From a standing start to 80mph, there's little would touch it, but being a 16V engine, it lacks some mid-range punch. Hence I needed to drop to 3rd to get some kick. Even then, the gear ratios are all wrong for playing over 100mph.
I've seen the new VX Turbo stretch away from me without effort while I was thrashing mine - that would be a better competition.
I was very impressed with that S3 still, despite the differences in the cars. Be interesting to see how it compares from a standing start - 4wd vs Rwd, power vs lightweight.
Will Revo be at Alconbury in June?
