Found this link which gives a searchable database of recalls for UK vehicles, may be useful if you want to know what should have been carried out.

The site also has info on MOT tests, what is tested etc.

It's a critical/safety thing only. And, it relies upon owners reporting and submitting evidence of flaws. So, if you don't report it and it doesn't hit the threshold nothing will be done.
