hi there, i'll let you into a secret -i've got a Zx 16v and it's the best car i've ever driven! (evo integrale, scooby, E30 M3 included!)(not the fastest, but when it comes to the twistys - wow!)(although i've just stuck mine into the scenery last week when i wasn't concentrating on the way to work - DOH!)
I like saxo's but with one proviso - no stupid mods - nice wheels, perhaps a bit lower and thats it - these stupid body kits that are all wings and scoops are just rubbish - might as well spend 2k gettting your girlfriend some new plastic for her body if you want to show off!
(PS i kinda sneak in her 'cause i got a ibiza rally car!) (yeah yeah i know - not that much ibiza left in it but I think of it as a SEAT)
:p
SaxoVTS,
I came from a VTS to a Cupra last November. The VTS was great, sooo chuckable. I needed 5 doors and more power & toys and I wasn't disappointed with the Cupra. I test drove a MY02 Cupra and was worried about the handling after the Saxo, but the MY03 is nearly as good, so much different over the MY02.
Anyway, you should make the change - you won't regret it.
welcome, my misses has a saxy so you're alright by me:)

everyone raves how quick Saxo VTS are and they are a hot hatch, but raced on eat the guildford cruise once, off the lights, very very close, and beat it, i was a very hapy chappy and we both got very good starts....
Welcome aboard mate, always glad to have new members in which we can perhaps guide the way to and buy a Seat:D ;) :p

I wont flame ya. I have a 2001 ibiza 20VT and 2002 saxo vtr! Not driven a vts yet
I had a saxo crawling all over my bumper this morning. Couldn't get by. Tried to keep up with me across a chicane-like roundabout and along the dual carriageway but a) he could not or; b) he was a crap driver. My next door neighbours daughters both have saxos. They're not bad looking.. girls :D

I am the daddy :D Their brother's in the police so don't mess ;) The house next to them has a lighly modded XR2. Our street looks like a boy racer car park. Opposite is an old banger of an Astra GTE which you can hear a mile off, and some more pretty girls in shopping 206s :D

And my next door neighbours 17 and 18 year old daughters each have a green Matiz!

Welcome to the site!
I see alot of VTR's, but not many VTS's around.
Must be because the VTS insurance is alot higher?
Anyway.... you're welcome on this site as long as you don't slag off Seat's!
Look at it this way, what would the response be if I posted on a Saxo site ?
However wouldn't you feel more at home on Saxo Sports (www.saxosports.com) or Saxo Force (www.saxo.force9.co.uk/) or Saxo Site (freespace.virgin.net/will.graney/) ?

Yeah i wanted to get a VTS but the insurance was seriously high, so i bought my Seat GTI instead.

just a minute , I see your point..
Newbie..you might be better on another site mate:D
Thanks for the welcome fellas:D
I thought I was gonna get slated cos of what I drive, I guess this forum is more mature than some, but not to mature I hope ;)
@ rhumber , my insurance is due on the 27th, gonna be a killer:mad: and I am a member of the Saxo Sports Club, which has its own forum. I think you would find the peeps on there really friendly regardless of what you drive.:D Sxao drivers seem to have a bad rep, which the members of the SSC are trying to change. Most of us just love our cars.:D
@ max_torque I totaly agree about bodykits and stuff. Mybe if you are gonna build a show car then go for it but for an every day driver sublte is the key. AT the mo I only have an induction kit, a new grill and some lexus style lights. Next I am gonna lower it, get some 16s and colour code it then I think it will be finished.
I am thinking about my next car, and the Leon Cupra R is a distinct possability, thats one of the reasons I joined the forum. I will have to waite for the used ones to come down in price though:mad:
I have never raced a Seat of any type so wouldnt know how they perform......have raced a few other cars, like a new Celica and totlay kicked that guys arse. Alot of other drivers like to "have a go" a Saxos especialy off the lights, but most are surprised by our performance.
Just don't go too far with your car and end up like this one !
I recognise that one, I like aspects of that car. On the whole though its not realy my taste. I like smoother euro looks like a lot of VW guys go for.
A Saxo is a great way to enter into the world of hot hatches, had a great race with one in my Astra 2.2, it is very rare I get raced in Notts/Derby. Quick Car and deserves respect.
What do you think of the C2 VTR/VTS that is going to replace the Saxo?
hi mate.
i have only seen the C2 in rally spec, and thought it looked quite cool actualy. i will go and have a scan for some pics of the raod version.
Citroen in french means lemon dont it?
err no, lemon in french is citron:D
cool car by the way:no:
Try the Autoexpress website www.autoexpress.co.uk they had picyures of it in this weeks edition.
will do matey, cheers:cheers:

Not the greatest fan of Saxo's, mainly because of the general breed of owners round here, but saying that - so long as the mods are kept tasteful and not ridiculous (afterall it's just a normal road-going supermini!) then I'm all for the general motoring enthusiast :o)
On that subject, I must try and get some pictures of this guy on my estate who drives an S reg 1.2 Corsa - with:
Dual twin pipe exhausts
Black windows
Massive alloys
Blue and Yellow dash
Downforce: front 'wings', rear whale tail, full bibs and skirts
Oh and a windscreen stripe thingy saying 'LEROY'
You can hear and feel him entering the estate (about 500m from my house!)

Welcome!

Lots of saxo's VTR/VTS around here and most of em R bad boys who drive em, but i can never get a race off em. When i try to intimidate em they just pull over! saying that i can think of *210* reasons for them not to race :) Had 1 race but it was more of a play. speed up and blow him away, slow down and let him catch up. Repeat Steps 1 & 2.
Saying that in my last car i used to get killed by saxo's all the time! Very quick non-turbo car! Theres a Saxo VTR sdown ere with a turbo conversion too which sounds nice, (Bailey DV on it) but havent had the privelage of pulling up next to him at the lights.
Anyway welcome!
p.s. get the Leon R, thats my plan!

I prefer to call it constructive criticism not moaning, it’s only women that moan
The old bit I can’t argue with
ahh would love a Leon Cupra R, maybe next year. thats the plan anyway as i love my SAX at the mo, but the Leon is the only other car I want. (I was thinking of a noo Ibiza Cupra R, until i saw it ).
As i said earlier, Saxo drivers do have a bad reputation, but its mostly unfair. Call me paranoid but since i got the VTS every c*nt wants to race me, I havent backed down yet and have never lost.....yet!! Just waitin for some real competition:D
Even guys on motor bikes have a go, but they usualy kick my ass.......to be expected realy.
and cosidering i dont have a phat turbo, its prety rapid:D
