Thanks. I do have a lot of pride in my cars/bikes because its all paid for 100% by me and with no bank of Mummy and Daddy and Uni on top of it all makes it quite hard to save up money. So when I go to buy something I either search around for ages for a goodun (like my old black Valver) or I buy a shitter dirt cheap and and spend a lot of time getting it up to scratch (like my polo and gixer).
Cheers for all the comments peeps

i look at it the same way mate, i started with a scooter, sold that and saved for a year to buy my yellow beeza.. got that and carried on saving as i was going to do some mods to that but then i found this site! then found the love for beeza's and bought a gti.....now sold the yellow beeza this week so have recoperated £1600. that leaves me a minus of £300 to go to the gti £1900.... i think when you have worked hard for your money you appreichate what you buy with it due to the fact you know it was hard work to get it.... any how there both looking tasty.

Keep in inside while the weather is so horrid.
A mate slide his bike yesterday... managed to deflate his lung and break 6 ribs..
this vamp doesn't do Nurse Nightingale particularly well so please wait for the better weather.

just the thought of a nyteshaded nurse keeps me warm on the road to work - what else is going to stop my nuts freezing off now ?:headhurt:
mind you if i had that beast i'd have it sat in the front room keeping cosy by the fire all winter

6 months down the line I'm still completely loving the bike :D Some scary moments, and some blind cagers, but still keeping it the rubber side down.
Had a little play in photoshop and with HDR and made this little thing:

Any more/new bikers amongst the SCN fellowship??

that looks well cool mate
Got my test at the end of August. Doing a direct access for 5 days. Looking to get a Kwak er-6f or Suzuki gsx650f as starter bike. Any comments on these, have read up on them and still cant decide although 0% finance available on the kwak at the moment.
Looks WELL Sweet :D :funk:
Keep an eye out for my other half's Bike on gixer junkies - I think his user name is LITTLECHAT (or so he tells me ;) ) (Luke) hes just purchased a 750 this year. Bought a double bubble screen and a Yoshi (?) exhaust for it?
Love going out on it - hate the palavar of getting all geared up when it's hot though!
Nice pics Czechboy - Bike looks awesome. Id love to use PS like that, contrasting colours with B&W and adding frames etc.. The last pic on this page is great! ;)
Oh the Polo looks smart as well! :D

They are both really good starter bikes. Plenty of power but more forgiving then the ZXR or the GSXR. Also more upright position which is better for new riders as it gives you more control and stability over the bike at lower speeds and there isn't as much pressure on your wrists, which makes it ideal for slightly longer distances.
What I would say is to get your first bike second hand as you will only end up dropping it anyway and you'll be after a GSXR or ZXR eventually after a year or so, so in the interest of resale you'd just loose out lots of money if you were to get your fist bike new, keep it for a year and then try sell it. Awesome fun......if only petrol didn't cost £1.25 a liter I'd be on the bike constantly, but even so I must have done about 2000miles since the start of summer holidays.
Make sure you budget for some proper safety gear as well ;)
Here is a more recent pic of mine [B)]

I have seen an 89 cbr 400 locally which tempted me for £1600. I have already bought my helmet a caberg trip with flip front as I wear glasses this was the only one I could get my glasses on with apart from a £400 shoei, and have some decent frank thomas leather gloves and boots.
Just deciding on whether to get leathers or textiles for waterproof and all year round riding.
