View Full Version : "Cleaner Diesel" vs "City Diesel"
Around Warrington and other towns all I see is Cleaner Diesel. As soon as I go into Manchester/Birmingham it becomes City Diesel.
Is there a difference between Cleaner Diesel and City Diesel?
Or, is this another marketing pitch???

Cleaner Diesel is BP, City Diesel is Esso and some other places ain't it? (Sainsbury's?)
All the same to me.
I heard that cleaner diesel is cleaner than the others.

Nah, it's because Cleaner diesel is for vehicles up to 2 Ton weight and City disel is for vehicles over the 2 Ton weight category.
The Cleaner diesel gets taxed more because generally smaller vehicles are carrying less people or goods, and classed as being less efficient. City diesel is taxed less, but because ti costs more to make it is the same price anyway.
Do not put City diesel in your car, as it will rot the seals.
