View Full Version : Clones TDI 130 Mk4 Ibiza!- Sunny/clean pics
Hi all,
Firstly, Merry Christmas.
I'm just in a settled after buying my new car - a seat ibiza 1.9tdi 130 - a mear 400+ mile round trip. I have to say i'm very happy with it compaired to my saxo VTR. It's comfortable but firm, looks nice, has alot of mod cons and nice performance/mpg. I don't have any of my own pics but here are the ones i was sent by the previous owner. Plans are to keep it standard ish, perhaps some Cupra alloys. Although i have seen these on the bay and they were really quite expensive, after that i think a remap not for a few months though. Anyway heres the pictures.

Save for the map 1st thats what im doing :D
Thanks mate, yea i will prob get a remap first, does this lower the mpg alot? Not sure where in Scotland i could get it done.

depends where you are mate, east coast - star performance. west coast- drivers in glasgow - custom code have dealers through the west somewhere. bedrock veedubs in motherwell.
Car looks good mate.
Where abouts in Scotland are you? And we will point you in the right direction. ;)
Thanks, I'm from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. The closest would be Glasgow i recon. Really pleased with it :)
I got mine remapped by Drivers, and i must say they were really helpful. Neil defo knows his stuff. http://www.drivers-glasgow.co.uk/ is their site.
Theres also a Custom-Code dealer in Glasgow now. If you go onto here (http://www.custom-code.co.uk/index.php?option=com_contact&catid=18&Itemid=40) this will tell you where it is and contact info.
Hope this helps.
with getting a remap on a 130 and above, save for a nice new clutch aswell, sachs etc
Cheers guys. Remap won't be till after January perhaps even later.

And in answer to your question - the remap will make it BETTER on fuel for normal driving. But if you thrash it it obviously decreses it. If you are going on a decent length journey and include normal driving and using the boot every now and then, you should see 45-50mpg average. The day after I got mine remapped - i got 61.6mpg AVERAGE! :funk:
Oh and nice car! That's what mine started off as.
same colour as my sisters...in fatc looks indentical! nice!
Very nice mate, looks spot on.
I really like that colour, as said before there aren't a lot of PD130's on the forum in that colour. :)
BTW - Your first mod has already been done... a Polo wiper, haha. It's got those retro-fit aero-wipers too.
Cheers mate,
Didn't notice that lol :)

Nice ibiza.......If you intend on improving the car, stay away from bonnet vents lol
Thanks, i'm not into chaving my car up though :) Just sensible mods if any atm.
cool exactly as my car started 2 years ago..... very diferent now tho lol. nice car mate
Not sure if you modded the Saxo... but if you didnt... log off and never come back!
Your at the start of a very slippery slope...
Once you start your car will eat your money! But will go alot quicker as an off shoot.
This website will drain your funds!
Oh an I love the colour!! My fav!!

Thanks for the nice comments!
Yes i did mod my saxo but sensibly, alloys exhaust/manifold lowered but no body kits. I think i will mod this but have to wait a few months until i save some more as my saxo isn't sold yet.
I won't even bother listing what i want to do as it will get me in the mood lol. I need some cheap seat covers and rubber mats though as my car will be used for work. But i hope to start moding soon!

Erm....they're Ibiza Cupra wheels dude!!!! Well done for finding those at that price!
If they are Leon Cupra R wheels - they'll be 18 inch. The 17inch Leon wheels are Starfish alloys.
The ones you've bought are mk4 Ibiza Cupra wheels! I'm not jealous..... [:@]
They might be Leon FR+ alloys.

I think red looks good on most colours but honestly maybe not yours. As your colour isnt available in FR/Cupra iirc? Don't know what colour would suit yours tbh.
i painted mine red look well smart! wheels arecool mate!

Done a bit of diggin into those wheels chap
if they are 17s, then they are off the Leon FR+
not sure on width or offsets though
Cheers for the comments, the tyres on them are 225/45?R17 91W thats what he sent me. not sure on the width but i hope they fit. You and chris were right i think they are the FR+ ones. Any idea if they will fit Chris?
heres a chop someone on here done for me i think it looks quit nice, well an improvement http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p72/bigardmat/photoshopped%20cars%20etc/clonechop.jpg
I would like the FR bumpers though added to that at some point.
225 might be a little wide and mat rub..... may get away with them on the back tho...
I'm abit of a fool then i should have done more research. I am just about to buy these but will hold off for 30min or so and see what peoples comments are because i don't want them if they will rub all the time :(
They'll fit, but will rub a little as said with the 225 tyres.
But come tyre time, just fit some thinner ones! :)
Well i need 2 new tyres from the, so i could put them on the front. Would that be silly having different sizes on the back than the front? Could you also answer another 2 questions mate?
1) what tyre size should i get?
2) Which tyres do you rate? Don't want to spend too much and will buy from mytyres.co.uk
Cheers!

I emailed J-Graice about a remap booking but havn't had a reply - i guess the easy option is to phone lol.
Thanks for the comments so far ;)
ibiza 130 tdi, nice yellow leon and red arosa across your road lol
Thats accross my road, lol. It's a leon and an ibiza mate, not an arosa.
Looks a lot better now mate, good job! :)
Just noticed it's lost the Polo wiper it had in the advert photos... did the seller remove it before you picked the car up?
Ah yea, he must have removed it before i sold it mate.
Thanks for the comments ;)
Last night i bought a Facelift bumper from ebay so i'm going to get that sprayed then fitted.
My brakes recently have been sqeeking alot - any idea why?

On the back of the brake pads and round the sides that rub on the carriers. Basicly everywhere that something is touching the brake pad (apart from obviously the disc).
Will look good with the new bumper mate. :)
Looking through your photos again, really do like that colour!
Your car looks really good with those alloys. Facelift bumpers will make a huge difference aswell :)
Hey guys!
Been a very expensive week for me :(
Passed my bike test today so going to go out soon for a shot of my Suzuki Sv 650s :D!
Also picked up my car today with my new face lift bumper which looks great!
I know this post is useless though pics so i'll get some later :D
Looking forward to seeing it mate.
Congrats on passing you bike test!

Looking forward to seeing those pics mate! Currently thinkin about the cupra front bumper on mine although it will need some tweeks for the intercooler until I can afford an FMIC. Current fog lights will fit the Cupra bumper but not the new FR bumper!
Need more cars our colour on the site, personally think it looks sweet in sunlight!
Nice car!;)
I forgot i promised pics didn't i? I'll get them for next week as i can't be bothered cleaning it as it's got a service dity and will get mucky hands on it :)
Got a link to your thread mate?
Planning on getting a remap very soon if the service isn't too expensive. I hate the way it feel restricted when i accelerate sometimes and the needle moves up slowly :P
Well the service cost me £85 so i got my remap today.
Can't say much atm tbh because i had 3 people in the car and dare i say i didn't find it much different? Only drove 1mile on my won through the town. Gave my brother a 2 min shot round the block and he though it was very fast :P (he drives a fiesta 1.25 mk4).
Anyway the guy said the knocking from my passenger side was awfull and sounded serious like the ARB or something like that. Said the steering feel crap ( I agree! ) so might have to get it in a garage to have it fixed.
Also going to try change my rear brakes tomorrow and i'll get those pics up
It should feel like a different car with the remap! Which map have you gone for?
I think i get used to speed quickly or something! It's a custom code!
It is fast! But i have a motorbike took me a week to get used to the 33bhp restricted - took it out and felt but i'll get used to it!
It is much faster i guess. Going out for a little drive tonight so i shall see :) Hopefully running 170-175 at least? No idea about torque
Just back from the gym and put my foot down a few times. It is actually much faster and put a nice big smile on my face! Revs more freely which i love!
Good stuff mate.
You should jack the car up and take the wheel off and have a look at the Anti Roll Bar bush - you'll be able to see if its worn as it should be tightly wrapped round the bar itself. :)
Not the best of photos, but this shows the ARB bush just to the left of the left hand circle.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/chr15b/Ibiza/One.jpg
Cheer Chris, i was going to jack the car up anyway today and change my rear pads but it's lashing with rain here - typical.
Same up here mate, I changed the back bumper today but had to hunt for shelter.
Oh you got a Capra one? ( jealous )
Rain still lashing down...guess i'll have to wait till another weekend :/
It's to be nicer tomorrow mate, if it is I'm doing my oil change!
Update :)
No pics yet get the car back tomorrow but it's getting lowered today and tomorrow with new wishbone bushes and new rear brake pads. Not looking forward to seeing the bill :P
Also bit of a bad update - curbed my alloy even more /cry
Sounds good, not the alloy though.
I'm actually heading down to Kilmarnock now to see a car... I'd say look out for my but will be in my Dad's car. (Black A6 Quattro)
Where abouts in Kilmarnock? Won't be home till about 1 or so anyway :P
Next mod could be a mufflerconomy if i can be bothered with a loud exhaust...
Need to stop spending soon lol.
Next mod could be a mufflerconomy if i can be bothered with a loud exhaust...
Just had this done myself. It is loud but only when you want it to be. Cruising on the motorway or at any constant speed you cant hear a thing. its only when you put your foot down, and it doesnt half rawr. I'll try get some vids in a bit.
Sounds good, perfect for what i want quite when sensible but got some grunt when you want it, how much did you pay mate?
Can't wait to drive it tomorrow. One of my springs was snapped and i had play in the wish bone so it handled like crap - felt like the wheel was going to come of when turning left lol.
I had it done on the Ibiza too mate, cost me £110 at C+C Exhausts in Hillington.
Went and seen that car and paid a deposit on it, it's just off Western Road. :)
I stay just up from there, past tesco in the kinda new houses...
Audio A4? Or did you decide on something else?
Is it a sit and wait job getting it done at Hillington? Or will it take a few hours?
I paid £80 at Custom Pipes in doncaster. Probably a bit far for you to travel though. Just been out and got a couple of drive by vids. Waiting for my mate to send them, see if theyre any good.
So the mechanic can't finish them today. So I've to go down tomorrow morning and help choose a height and hopefully he can finish up. Tomorrow will make it 3 days so hope he doesn't charge too much.
But i've heard people on here do it in a few hours lol?
So guys time to tidy my car up abit.
Tomorrow i'll try clean it and get up-to-date pics of the car - Facelift front bumper/coilovers/HU
Getting a mufflerectomy on the 10th so looking forward to that.
Then i'm looking at Cupra rear bumper and either new alloys 16" this time...or powdercoat the ones i have although i'm not sure which colour would suit my car?
Sounds good mate, why you getting rid of the 17's?
Not sure what to do, sometimes i look at it and think they look too big? I'll go clean it now and take some pics later. Not sure how a gun metal colour would look?
Hows the toledo doing at replacing the ibiza?

lol, yes well done :) and thanks, cupra rear and powdercoating will finish of the outside :)
Looks superb mate! The difference the front bumper makes is amazing - one of the essential mods I think.
I got a Passat to replace the Ibiza... it's a brilliant car - we needed a bigger car due to my line of work mainly (Which I don't do anymore...) but we're having a kid and thats due in July so gonna hang onto it for a bit.
Can't remember the name of the street I got the car from, but it was right next to that Tesco!
I guess it would be quiet at Rugby Park today - it's mobbed at Paisley, all the sad sobs crying because the bulldozer will be meeting their heap of a stadium.
lol^^ ... I was just dropping my step dad off to get his ticket for the Ayr v kilmarnock game.
Looks alot better in the flesh, got tyre black on aswell. ( think i need to lower it more)?
I love that pic in your avatar with the cupra rear - makes me jealous!
Congrats on the baby!
Cheers ... Will need to change the avatar but I'll wait and see... I want a new Leon. :)

Looks much better!
LCR splitter on the front makes all the difference again! Cupra bumper now and that is SORTED! :D
Cheers, yea i'll get round to a Splitter in the summer - just abit worried about the fitting. Proably won't be too hard and i know theres a guide i can follow on here.
Looks really good with the new bumper and suspension! Good effort! How well does the colour match up?
Colour is 100% from what i can see, i was very impressed with the paint job. I'll get some better pics soon :)
I didn't think I'd like this colour, but on this car it is class!
Thanks! I've lowered the rear a little more not much but does look better!
Also couldn't make my booking to get a mufflerectomy as i was asked to work that Saturday.
So i've just bought one of those £99 magnex exhausts from ebay :) Looking forward to getting it and fitting it
So, the exhaust arrived and sure enough was a genuine magnex exhaust for £99.
I was charged £15 for fitting (without a receipt) :).
I'm so glad i got it - quite quiet but when you plant it, the sound is great. Even better from outside.
It also revs so much better, it feels more like a petrol - it wants to rev and feel much less restricted.Theres also a small pigeon under my bonnet and i love it :D Here's some pics i took - just cleaned it and it started snowing :(
Tonight I'm going to order a green panel filter, not sure what comes after that. I'm happy with the rear now the new tip so not in a rush for a cupra bumper. Think probably save for turbo/clutch/inter cooler or refurb wheels.

I would've cut it in the rear valance a bit.....and trust me fella, they look SO much better with the Cupra rear bumper. :) I had mine for ages with standard rear bumper and facelift front, but am SO glad i've got the Cupra rear now!

Have to agree your next mod should be a cupra/fr back bumper will look
much better.:D
Looks superb mate - your cars looking very nice.
I liked mines (Similar exhaust...) with the standard bumper but looked awesome when the Cupra rear was fitted ... yours would look similar...

On an off-topic/personal note ... I have my Passat up for sale now, should be back in a SEAT soon! ;)
Cheers guys, so you think that should be my next mod then?
I was a real fan of your seat Chris, well never seen it in person but looked great in the pictures.
Was the passat just not right for you then? By Seat i take it you mean Toledo :)? Or you after a newer Leon or something?
Edit: what do you guys think of my ride height?
Car looks great.
As for the ride height, id pehaps drop it a little bit more on the front to get a bit more of a nose down stance. Will make it handle better too.
What position are the adjusters in on fronts and back anyway? I'm guessing backs are wound fully down?
Thanks for your comment Tom :)
The coilovers can still go down a fair bit. Got a least an inch to go all round i think. I just judged the rear roughly - didn't measure anything.
May lowered it slightly next weekend :)
I personally think the ride height is fine to be honest ... the Cupra rear would go a treat with the front and the wheels you have at the moment. :)
I'm selling the Passat and hopefully lookin at getting a MK1 Leon FR TDI 150 ... Will see how things go though. :)

It's quiet but nice i'm really pleased for £99 it was just a cheap as a mufflerectomy.
Green filter odered today, is it worth getting a new downpipe and stage 2 map or a waste of money?
So far i've done
Remap
Catback
Greenfilter ( odered)
I think a pd160 intake is like £60 or something stupid from the dealers?

Managed to get a spot on a rolling road today.
Was a good day with losts of fast cars.
I was dissapointed at first with mine but it was quite good when you think i've not done much.
169.8bhp
293.1lbft - pleased with the torque figure.
There was a VRS there that produced 175/280 with a map and an air filter.
Heres the graph anyway.

Hi there,
Just lettin u know I went for a Magnex exhaust after readin up and hearin u guys experience. Won't be fittin till Thursday, where i'll let you know about any change in sound and character of my PD100. One thing i think i spotted with these exhaust is that Junction 26 maybe sendin out two versions as sportriders and Bertrums exhaust tip are bigger and have some perforation going on inside plus the neck from box to exhaust tip is longer. i think clone and i have the version in the advert.
I think mine has some perforation in the inside. Mine sounds great imo just wish i could get a good quality video. You got a Diesel or petrol?
Armitageshanks
12-02-2009, 17:04
I've got a deisel, and exhausts been fitted to the tune of 65 pounds, ...what can you do. Anyway i thought you said you could hear only a slight difference;this thing has a fair amount of rumble , I suppose it could be louder. I was trying to sneak this mod pass the misses but i'd be surprised if she does'nt notice. With windows up and radio off you can hear the exhaust tone cruising on dual carraigeway but its not that intrusive and almost non existant when radio on. The real test will be when the family climbs aboard cos im extra nervy about soundin like a boy racer ,which ain't good at my age.
Performance wise i ain't noticed nothing, just the same really, but its early days. I've done a little video i'll try and post later.
i need to gget someone to drive the motor to really see if its as loud as i think tho, cos at the minute around town drivin seems a tad loud for me.:
No, it was sportrider who hardly noticed a difference.
No performance gains? I noticed a considerable difference in how freely it revved. Felt alot less restricted.
I got my mate to rev it and you get a lovely tone/whistle from the exhaust, and i was only charged £15 for fitting without a receipt. Why were you so expensive?
Clone, didn't realise from your avatar that your motor was blue lol, thought it was silver  I think it's the same blue as my first ibiza :D always looked fantastic after a good clean and polish ;)
Armitageshanks, Junction 26 are sending out 2 version, as there ARE two different systems available and they had two adverts on ebay for them;
XSS11 - 6"x4" oval - what sportrider and I have,
XSS11/SK - 120mmx80mm oval - which I think Clone has (by the looks of it).
Looks sweet dude, keep it up :D
Hey,
Cheers mate! Yea i think it's peral blue but not 100% and i agree it looks great on a sunny day when it's clean.
It's definately metallic... glacier blue rings a bell?! There's some pics of my old one at the begining of my RR thread, was only a 1.2 though lol
Armitageshanks
12-02-2009, 18:28
Thanx Betrum,
I thought so, could be the reason Sportrider ditched his Magnex box then, cos he thought his version was'nt loud enough.
Clones baby blue car was the colour i wanted but did'nt find one at the right price . Seat bought out another version to the baby blue on newer cars but Im not keen onit. My cars 02 Luna grey(silver) and i managed to get second hand front and rear Fr bumpers but again i think seat tampered with the Luna grey paint pot and theres a slight difference in colours now.
Armitageshanks
12-02-2009, 18:30
Yes....thats the colour Glazier blue. They bought out a slightly darker/smokey Glazier blue later on.

Yes that light is way off , but the cars had a bit of history,i.e hit in the back a couple of times. Since i've put the Fr bumper on, it has looked worse and being that its not summer and i don't have a garage I can't be asked to get a better fit at the mo,. I hastily put it on about 2 weeks ago and could see it were'nt straight,.
I used a Samsung p1000 10.2 megpix cam.
so Clone do you think yours is louder .
Yes mate, not much also got more whistle from it. Will get one at the weekend for y'all.
Armitageshanks

Yeah i was hoping to get more whistle, but i guess its no Milltek. Tried doing a fly-by to see if the all-important 'whooshy' changing through gear sound was more pronounced but could'nt get a decent quiet run.

I've got that noise but not sure where it comes from lol, sounds like the turbo or something in the engine bay anyway. Hopefully my green cotton filter will arrive tomorrow and it should give alit more whoosh noise :)

:L:L its a talent now
So, i've now got the SeatSport FMIC fitted with the, Forge pipework.
We fittied it and there was no boost at all lol - disatster. Stupidly we mounted the bumper without checking - luckily the bumper is very easy to remove so we removed it as the last forge pipe was kinked. When i stand at the front of the car and get someone to rev i can hear noise but there is no leak that i can feel.
Easy bit of kit to fit - broke the MAF clip so it just in and no more -we did cable tie it but had to cut them off and forgot to put them back.
Also a pic of my de wipering skills. LCR splitter is drilled and ready to fit but it's been too wet to fit.

No, no need. I've left a comment on your thread with some help on how to fit it.
Cheers guys

Looks great! I really like the colour of your car too. I reckon the darker Sportrider/Ecomotive rear lights would look good on your car.
Have you thought about getting the facelift FR grilles for the front bumper?
That would be an idea mate, where would i get them from?
I don't think you get a cupra the same colour as mine so it's nearly one of a kind ( first one i've seen with cupra/facelift bumpers )
I also think the sports rider lights would look good but not sure if i like the cupra ones better...
Anyway i'm really pleased :) all for £140
Edit: Do you think it would look stupid with my front grille removed to expose the fmic?
I don't think the FR grilles cost too much from Seat. I think about £70 for all of them. Ibiza130tdi swapped his standard grilles for the facelift FR ones so he'll know. Someone on here will snap up your standard grilles too.
I origionally wanted the Sportrider lights but some Cupra ones came up at a good price so got them instead.
It might look a bit bare without the main grille... The facelift FR grilles have larger honeycombs so if you got them, your intercooler would be more visible.
I mean the grille at the bottom. Not going to spend £70 on a little plastic although no doubt it would look better.
Do you think one of those chrome surrounds on my front grill would look good?

dont remove the front grill bud, rear bumper looks excellent but! mind i had a problem with my exhaust sitting too low on that bumper, colin bolted it up using some fancy clamp things!
I'll take it to a garage and see what they can do looks better in the flesh :)

I was talking about the grille at the bottom.
The chrome surround may improve the front end. I painted my surround the same colour as my wheels.

That looks minted! :D
I need to re-align my exhaust too - going to see about it tomorrow. :)
Looks loads better mate, you must be fair chuffed with it now? It's a completely different car than what it originally started out like anyways. :)
Car situ with me at the moment is still have the Passat and going to hang onto it for a bit longer, my contract is due to expire in June so what happens with that is what'll decide what I do with the car.
I've kept my reg though, I want a MK2 Leon FR but will need to wait and see. :)

Thanks mate, it makes it all even more worth it when others appreciate whats been done.
I've got more plans for it though some styling ones and hybrid turbo :) Need a clutch atm which will skin me £800+
Oh well, i would like to see you get a leon as i really like them :)
Scott- nothing happened lol. I was busy so couldn't go to get it done. I'll get round to it some time.
It was a sunny day today so i went a little drive to largs - was a really good drive and i had fun with no clutch slip :) + my car was really clean so i took some new pics, although they are not the best pics.
Loving my new rear bumper :)
