Those lucky blighters that have the SPS3 system, do you use the full range of settings or are they abit gimmicky.

I know low9 is the Optimax program, so do you use low8 for normal unleaded?

Do you ever use the reduced power setting low0 when the roads are very slippy?

Or do you tend just to awitch between low1 (standard) and low9?

And how often are low2-low7 actually used?

Many thanks.

Run high 9 all the time.
You can't run above low 9 without 97/98ul.
The timing settings are upto 5 for 95ul, upto 7 for 97/98 unleaded. I've run 7 on 97/98 since i've had it with no pinking.

Car is being left at valet parking next week. (low1). Had to lend it to a muppet from work last week (low1)
In the rain I just leave it where it is. If it snows heavily I might review this and drop it to (low 1)
Basicly I think you'll only use the extremes. It's usefull to know that if I get stuck for 97/98ul that I can turn it back to low 9.

Done 3000miles on revo now with no issues. Previous 14.5k on apr98.

Thanks for the feedback.

I though high9 was a 'run at your own risk, she canna take no more capt'n' mode. Have you no worries using it?

Do you get an instruction manual explaining all the different settings?

yep you get instructions and yes i'm running it at my own risk. But you can pick up a nearly new KO3s for a couple of hundred. If you can afford all the other mods then who cares about a turbo going boom (which it wont)
I've argued before that the ECU asks for an airflow, so if the turbo is less restricted by pressure losses in the rest of the system then it can make the airflow at lower boost. Mine runs no higher than 1.4bar, and I run out of road long before it gets chance to glow.
Some cars with just a chip running low 9 will peak at similar boost levels

REVO state that the high range of settings are 'at your own risk' but I thought if you have your car chipped it's at your own risk anyhow. Does this mean that if you are running low settings and something goes bang then REVO will cover the costs.

Just out of interest REVO state (for the Leon R) 263bhp/287lbft using the low 9 setting. I know that it's 'at my own risk' but would anyone hazard a guess as to what the R would kick out set at high 9 running Optimax (obviously).

If any of the REVO guys are reading this a 'GUESS' would suffice;)

I am currently running at high 9(have been now for three weeks) Also set timing at 9 for some fuel tests, it hates 95 fuel;)

I would hazard a guestimate that a Leon Cupra R would be around the 270 mark, possibly higher. When time permits I will test this guess.

Any guestimates about 20VT (180hp - cupra in UK) with SPS1, and different boost levels of SPS3 ?

Thanx, Alex
