Not bad service, prices clearly explained and a good couple of test drives on my own...

BUT as with most dealers, when you want a PX valuation
on your car all laws of Glass's guide get thown out of the window!!

Example....

I have a VW Passat TDI110 SE A/C with 67k miles but with FVWSH
etc etc, the car is in A1 condition on a 99 V plate

Glass's guide from the Autoexpress website, valued my car at

£8500 as a trade in..

Parkers were similar..

What Car valued it at £9100.

Went to the Seat Dealer last Saturday to do the deal..

Salesmans Glass's Guide book showed my car to be booked at £8275

But the Salesman then proceded to ring round his contacts in the trade to get a buyer..

there values came back between £6K and £7.5k!!!!!

So px valuations aren't based on any book they are just pulled out of thin air!!!! so it seems....

So Passat will be going into Auto Trader and on all the for sale sites...

I would like Graham or Dazz to give me there opinion....

cheers

Dazz

Prior to buying my Leon Cupra I tried e-mail contact with Premier and NE Garages(both national advertisers) and got no response, hopeless. Found the same reaction re. chop in prices, trade values only, even against my new style Toledo. Basically got the same p.ex with the import brokers (seatimports) but told them to sell the car through their website not just pass it on to the trade. Guide prices p.ex were all around £7.5k to £8k nobody offered more than £7 and I got £6750, they put it up for £7250 and sold it for I don't know what, but somebody got a great buy. Funny how p.ex values don't equate but the book always comes out for the retail price!!

I live in North Somerset and when looking for my new Leon I did a lot of ringing around (as you would).

Premiere offered me nearly a grand off the list price on a new Leon. They also gave me a good deal on my old Ibiza GTI. A bit below list price but still more than anyone else (and that was without even seeing it). When offset against the saving made on the new Leon I was sold!

A few weeks later I made the journey up to Stoke-on-Trent to do the exchange. I parked my car down the road from the dealer. Walked in, saw my shiney new Leon, fell in love. Exchanged the paperwork etc. And drove it away.

Not once while I was there did they look at my Ibiza! There's trust for you!

My only complaints were that upon return home I noticed that they had skimped on the PDI. - Inch long scratch on the rear passenger window and a sticking drivers window.

My local dealer was not too impressed at having to do the work and got a bit pissy. However, credit to them both they sorted out the finances between them and my car got sorted pronto.

I would probably go there again next time - but with ensuring the PDI is done properly!

Cheers,
