Well the audio on the vid clip of the TSR day has something along the lines of "320bhp at the wheels!? That's insane!" And the vid shows it going off the dials. TBH I still think it is quick whwether it is 320 @ flywheel or 320 @ wheels.:D

yep thats mental:D
but there's a big difference between bhp @ flywheel and bhp @ the wheels

I know. Perhaps I am wrong but I believed that guesstimate was an @wheels figure? No broadband at home so can't watch vid again.
All I know is whatever the figure was on that vid, it will be bigger soon.
its a shame that fwd cars cant get the power down from standstill:(
traction control keeps flashing on whenever i use highish revs:( its taking awhile to get used to pulling away slower, used to just launch from standstill in the P1 at stupid revs and no wheel spin:)

Ask Bill about his encounter with a P1 off the line, quite amusing :D .Thanks for the beast demo Bill ,me and Mark would have brought neck braces if we known its was that mental! Mark could not beleive how quick it was, even off the line and thats praise indeed from a Prodrive WRX owner. You shall have awesome strong arms keeping that beast in check Bill. ANDY

No I'm from Cumbria, it was just a lucky guess.
But honestly, my dad moved down to Warley,Birmingham with work but he didn't want to live in the smoke so he bought a flat in Tewkesbury and commuted. He's back up here now but still has the flat. It's handy for visiting my brother and sister in London (from Evesham train station). I used to spend weeks on end down at the flat but don't have much time now with family etc.

once a fwd car is moving and has got over the traction losses from standing then if tuned enough it could possibly be a match for a P1 on a straight road....but i've seen P1's do the 1/4 in 12's at santa pod :D

My "only" P1 experience was lucky I think.... and aided by the P1 drivers inability to launch it without bogging it down... We both left the line at the same rate in 1st gear (me struggling for grip big time, and him getting a poor start). This surprised me no end... There is no way I could lanuch as hard as a 4WD car i my Ibzia.
2nd gear grips (just) for me in the dry, so once in 2nd, it all hooked up well and the P1 was left behind.
This is the only one I have come across so is more than likely just lucky... but it made me smile at the time.
Drag starts is'nt my scene.. (cos I'm crap at it :p) and I hate burning up my clutch.
Jabba's Ibiza has done a 13.4 at Pod I think, with no quaife diff and road tyres. No times on mine.. Not my cup of tea. (usually :))
Bill
quality stuff well done:D
i'm having a nightmare trying to get a good launch technique in my leon r,totally different to the P1:rolleyes:
its strange but all P1's are different(standard)in power, don't know why:confused:
on paper they are supposed to be 276bhp and 260lb ft but in reality figures range hugely from as low as 250bhp:eek:
i test drove two P1's and the first felt quite slow and comparable to my uk300(bug eye) which had been ppp'd(prodrive performance package)and was running 277bhp and 266 lb ft and of course quite heavier than the P1,second P1(which i bought)was a totally different car and when i got back from the test drive the missus said i looked quite grey and asked if i was ok(it was a mental drive and i scared the crap out of myself:sick: :D )and i knew i had to have it:D
later on two different rolling roads the car produced 300bhp and 263 lb ft which explained a few things, but it was still standard:eek:
i think i'll just be watching fron now on at santa pod as i wouldn't want to embarrass myself as all my mates have scoobs:rolleyes: and track days look more appealing now after i've upped the power of my leon
;)
