View Full Version : Pipercross Viper
I have an LCR 210 mk1 model and have a pipercorss Viper inducy which i have had for about 5 months and never fitted it because of the oil/maf reasons.
Just read on another thread that people reccomend the pipercross viper...?
Just wanted thoughts as i am half tempted to fit it on now.... only if it wont damage the maff as i dont fancy forking out 80.00 i think it is every other week.

Hi
The Pipercross Viper kit be fine as long as you don't "oil" the filter element. The oil tends to be sucked into the MAF which clogs the sensor.
The filter will just need to be blown out with an airline/cleaned at service interval.

I am not overly hot on the oil/maf/ LCR's as iv only owned it for 2 months and im only 19.
What do you esactly een by dont oil the filter element?
Sorry if this sounds silly, but id like to know esactly how it works and what i have to do.

when you clean the filter dont put any oil on it :)

As above. The kit will come, maybe, with a spraycan of filter oi. Do NOT put this on the filter whatever the instructions say. Leave the foam part of the filter "dry" and then the MAF cannot get clogged with oil.

It comes with a little can saying 'air filter dirt retention additive' is this wht you meant that contains the oil?
If i just stuck the head straight on without the spray would this be ok then do you think?
All i got is the induction kit itself, the braquets and the spray?
I want to be 100% sure as i dont want to mess the MAF up.

Put it on, my 007p valve sounded awesum, but the inuduction kit sounded like the standard air box suprisingly.
Just took it off.
