Mmm, my stock IC damaged a bit, so i also was considering an upgrade. I also was thinking on the IC you mentioned (as it is way cheaper than the ibiza SMIC) and i am not afraid of modding my bumper either.

the only mod i want to do with the front bumper is to remove the lower mesh grill.

Just got the Forge, Golf Side mount fitted to my Leon, (same fitment as golf) it has made considrable difference to mine and im very impressed.

Not sure if its released any more power yet, need to get it dyno'd to see, but the car pulls much better than it did before, heatsoak was a factor before on the standard IC, and it doesn't seem to get that dying out feeling near the top of the revs like it did before.

Certainly recommend one for anyones chipped Leon, im sure the Ibiza one gives a similar effect.

Wouldn't make much difference on a untuned car, but those with chips certainly worth considering.

74mm is too much if you want to keep the plastic mesh , plus you will need to move your rad back as they are typered (you might chaff the rad and damage something !)

680 mm does this include end tanks ? as my core is 150/500/60

imho wait a few weeks and see what happens with mine as they will be sold as a packaged product ! look at www.grsmotorsport.co.uk

have you done it yet ? mine has been moved back for over a month now and had no probs but you need to file a few things back to avoid pipes hitting the fan ! are you useing the old ic as well and how are you doing your pipe work ? not alot of room and again you will need to cut more brackets away !

A guy already posted a black K04-d beezer with FMIC conversion on this site (can't remember his name/nick). He removed the lower mesh, also cut the bumper out (where the lower mesh was fitted). I've also checked my bumper, if you remove all that inner section (see attachment) you'll gain lots of extra space.

yes but how many people want to cut their bumpers? whem you say k04ed, do you mean 020 or 010? thought i was gonna be first with the 020!!!!!

Current pricing on it from Forge is £400, it has been designed specifically for the fitment though.

No messing about with pipes or bumper cutting, its just a bolt in replacement.

Though i believe a front mounted would be even more efficient than this one, but as i say, has made a considrable difference, the standard one is very poor when you put it next to the Forge.

Im currently working on a review, so i'll have lots of pictures, of when we fitted it at M0rks a couple of weekends back.

Including a comparison of size against the standard Leon IC.

The only drawback, is it looks so gorgeous and shiny and nice, but you have to tuck it away behind the bumper where no one will ever see it :(

I think it was the K04-01 (straight bolt on). I'd cut my bumper insread of relocating radiators, but maybe you misundersood. He did not modify the look of the bumper, he just cut the inside out (practically relocating the mesh instead of rad). Also put a decent mesh there.

We've got a spare Ibiza 20vt front bumper which would be ideal to modify for a FMIC, if any of you guys are interested in it then make us an offer.

It's in yellow, but if you're to cut and fibreglass it I pressume you'd want to respray it so colour probably isn't an issue!

You can email me at kev@revotechnik.com

you WILL need to move the rad ! all musurements have been made by myself , mine will be in next weekend with NO mods to the bumper . i have spent a lot of time on this so i know what im talking about ! also how you gona weld s/s tubing to a alloy intercooler ? and if you still use the old i/c as well it makes life alot easyier and cheaper when it comes to pipe work . interested to see how you get on ?

my thoughts had been that ill try to run pipe work around the inner guard in the tt manner. have the tt clamps on back order(prob same as leon too) and have a single pass intercooler.
