There on there way, have just ordered the autolamp H7 HId conversion kit, just couldnt resist...

Should be here on Monday.

Got the Bluve vision H3 and silver indicators...All i need now is the side lights changes.

Can you get blue vision side lights??
Anyone got any ideas where i can get them as Autolamps dont stock the side lights.

Will report on the installation.

Note PRC i will NOT be taking off the front bumper...

Are side lights W5W?

If so, try

In fact, Powerbulbs do most fittings.

HTH

The beeza looks to be a bit easier than the Leon. I really haven't had that much time to look at the headlamp beam patern, but it looks like you should be OK with the conversion kit. Worst thing that can happen, is having to paint the bulb a bit to cut out unwanted stray light (this is pretty easy).

Good luck, let us know the results.

All fitted and working great. Only thing is the lights are just a bit low.. They were like that when i picked the car up but it seems more obvious now. The beam only projects about 30-40 feet. Will have to get that sorted.

Anyone know what screw to turn to adjust the vertical height? I assume its the one on the side of the lamp not the top!!

The W5W blue vision side lights are a pain in the arse to fit. The drives side is totally impossible without removing the fuel filter it seems.

But i got the H3 blues in, have to do the fogs now!!

Anyway, if i get some time i can write up how to fit them and avoid any mistakes.

p.s. prc didnt take bumper off ;)

But i did remove the glare shield... No way round it, but the bulbs are covers at top so its not really a problem and i dont have to worry about arcing!

6000k are the daddy, very blue when you switch on initially but once they heat up its a very wht light with a hint of blue. Even in my short journey with them i think people seem to get out your way more readily..Maybe they think i am the police

Excellent!!

Still not sure about removing the glare box, as you might glare oncoming traffic a bit more than you should. Don't know, I'm sure you figure it out. Have it professionally aimed with an aiming machine (remember your producing 3x the light of the halogens.

The light output gets whiter after about 100hrs of use.

Have you noticed that the mains don't seem to work as good anymore (in terms of distance)?
I can swear that the light output with the mains doesn't seem as good. Must be the HIDs really working.:D

I take it you have the height control next to the headlight switch on its highest setting already?

Yes!!

Its had to tell about the diff between main and diped as the lights are too low amd the dipped is abit lower than the Main, but they look Yello now even though they are Blue Vision!! But as they heat up they seem to get abit whiter!!

I've noticed that too, when I've been driving mine at night. Cars on dual carriageways that were obviously doing over 70 sometimes seem to slow down to 70 in front of me, something I never noticed with my old non-Xenon Rover.
The "edges" of the light pattern on mine are really blue, so people in front will get the odd blue glimmer as they go in/out of my beam, and maybe think there's a copper somewhere behind.

Your edges are really blue because it's a projector. It doesn't happen as much on the FF headlamps.
Have the same thing with the cars pulling over hear. Might be because most highway patrol cars are BMW w/ HIDs. :D

Be the first to get everything converted High Dipped and fogs, now that really would be something to see...:D

I wouldnt go that far, its a good job but at a cost. Luckly i am loaded right now so cost wasnt an issue but another time it would be and not sure i would save for 4 months to get it done!!

If you have the cash and have done eveerything else (which you have done Simon) then Yes go for it..

Dont be a pussy get the 6000k ones. If you do go for it and want a guide then get in touch. It took 6.5 hours to do 2 cars. I recon i could do it in 2 hours 3 at most now i have done it before..

The Highs only work if you do bi-xenon cus as you mention they need time to ignite and give full output. You'll always need a halogen, even if it's to use solely as a passing light.

Not realy the case as the lights take well less than 1 sec to light up...

Autolamps suggested that you would not need another Halogen. But that could always be arranged.

Besides i was really just kidding. Get it. joke!!

Have you have them aligned yet. I think the only downside of the HID is that if they're to high the blind oncoming traffic if they're to low they blind you and oncoming traffic by reflecting of the water on the ground.

Has anyone else picked them up yet ??

LEO LION R
04-04-2003, 08:42
This is them at the lowest level, and we tested them from oncoming and behind, before and after setting them up, only time there was any glare was when going over brow of hill, which you get with halogens anyway. The surprising thing was the number of badly alligned cars headlights out there, when you are looking for them it's about every 2nd or 3rd car, but these didn't either before or after - maybe the lenses are just well suited to the kit.

(P.S. SBF the email is still down, so i can post the dash pics for you if you want?)

Yes on a very bumpy road the front end pops up and down and you get the occasional puls of light intooncomming traffic!!

But you get then in any system factory fitted or not as the auto leveling does not react the quickly, its for if you have the car unevenly loaded then it will compensate. Its the same as the manual system you have already except it will always be at he correct height with infanite adjustment levels instead of 4!!

You will always have these problems. To be honest no matter what lights, there are plenty of badly fitted halogens. I have only had them a few day but i have not been flashed yet (plenty of time for that to happen i know)

Thought youd never ask, needed to adjust the contract as it was very dark, and has now made the lights seem a bit more glare - even though there wasn't.
