Looks really subdued compared to the bright yellow dials in mine !

Actually, I'm getting quite attached to my yellow dials now

Slim, you got any pics of the outside ?

Nahh, still carefully running it in...only 420 miles on it so far.

But I have been wondering how to "test" the ESP. I'm not really much of a hooligan, but would like to know what effect it has. Maybe in a week or two I might take a trip to DFS car park !

Did get to try the rain sensing wipers today though 'cos it was pissing down, they work really well. The Xenons are excellent too, really bright but I think one's aimed a bit too low. And I tried the cruise out today as well :D

And the very best bit about the car is the headlamp washers. They rise up out of the bumper like some James Bond style machine guns, and then blast the headlights with a spray that would put most pressure car washes to shame. Soaked my mate who was stood watching !
Can't wait till I pull up alongside some pedestrians or cyclists :p

How to activate ESP -

go onto roundabout far too fast, turn, stamp on brakes, get rear end into a horrible mess, let computer get you round. :D

LOL

Yeah you were ragging it at 4200rpm in 4th and i cruised passed in 3rd and put it into 6th (felt sorry for you) and you couldn't even catch up when ragging it. If i'd put it in 4th i'd have been up that hill and have had time to stop have a cup of coffee get back in as you passed and overtake you again :D

The proper technique is to start in front of the R guys then have them gag on the Diesel smoke. :D :D ;)

Don't worry SBF, you'll be surprise how much faster your car will get with a few more miles on it (and that's no joke)!!!

LOL (again)

He was in front :spin: bur not for long

Even let him decide the rolling start speed, and time to go

Have to admit there was very little smoke anyway, maybe that's why his plan failed :D

Goot to know the CountDown seems to be working.

As for the hill, i should not have held on to 4th that long 5th at 4000 would have been a better gear a i was no longer accelerating (well we were going over ***mph!!!)

Not saying i woudl have managed but with a 80bhp atvantage then something had to give. Anyway i had the house keys so i could arrive any time i wanted!!!

Anyway i felf sorry for you Leo as you were soooooo unwell yesterday i am surprised you made it out of bed  ;) :D

LEO LION R
03-04-2003, 13:31
Maybe it was all those pies you ate before for breakfast ;)

80bhp more maybe (depends on your standard car, as you know most are over 135 as standard) but your car is almost 200kg lighter and 30lbft more too.

So in an uphill battle (if you can call it that) i'd have thought it would have been closer. You hung on too long in 4th and i changed to early to 6th

Were just great drivers

can you get these shiny trim bits from seat as an add-on? how much? I already need a new gear stick knob, and find the black a bit dull ;)

Dave
there's a gear stick knob thingy in the Leon section. Rage has also picked one up.

YEAH, that's where SBF got them from and fitted by, roughly £100 including gearstick gaitor trim too.

Then replace the exhaust, add a filter, change the intercooler, upgrade the brakes and install the turbo from the 150 engine.

Ouch - its only a few bits painted plastic!

I like the look of that shiny gearstick knob - might just stick with that for a while :)

The lock pins and gearstick surrounds cost me £17. The air-vent surrounds are the expensive bits (£70-odd).

dave99
04-04-2003, 23:25
lock pins - are they the door lock button things that go up and down? (not sure why they are even there with the central locking!?)

Rage
05-04-2003, 00:45
So you can see when the door is unlocked.

chrome vent surrounds only cost £20 or so however getting the dials done may cost a bit more.

Fen

Yes, my mistake - the painted ones are £70 fitted (and hence painted).

I would think so as the work involved in getting the dials done must be a bit.
