Got back from first shift and in the space of 20 minutes I've booked JABBA for the 24th April (4am start for me) and I've also ordered a 'Dynatwist' and 007p Forge valve off Bill.

Jabba talked me right through the set up and said they had done a Cupra R this morning (275bhp/273lbs/ft), anyone on here?

Bill, sorry about the accent. What a polite fella he is, top man!

Adrian

What made you choose Jabba in the end?

I see you are going the whole hog with it!

Jabba, Induction & DV….

Are Jabba fitting them for you?

Looks like you are going to beat me to it as I have to get 2 new tyres this month!

Chip fund wiped out again….

It's been REVO or JABBA for weeks now and I had to make a final decision or I'd still be deciding this time next year (when REVO release the dynoplots);)

I figured for the price of REVO SPS3 I could have JABBA chip adjustable boost, a dynatwist and Forge DV and a couple of quid left over for the extra petrol I'll use getting there.

I also wanted to be able to change boost on the fly.

JABBA said they will fit the DV and Dynatwist if I want before chipping and I feel happier that someone is going to check over the engine and drive the car before sending me on my way.

The only downside I can see is the 500 mile round trip but that's a very small problem, especially on the way back:devil:

It’s my B’day in June so I might get my girlfriend to buy the DV & Dynatwist and get it done all at the same time.

I will look forward to seeing if they make any difference especially being on the car when being modded?

I do think the variable boost knob is a must!:D

What fuel you going to use on the day?

Surely only the best? OPTIMAX!!!! Fill it to the brim :)

I will be using Optimax but JABBA said the car will run fine on 95 ron as well.

Mike said it would be interesting to see what the dynatwist was like as he had never fitted or seen one before.

Jabba tend to use Baily DV's! Why did you choose the Forge one?

MARRA

Heard nothing but good reports about Forge but nothing on Baileys so it was a case of 'better the devil you know'

I thought that could have been me, as the figures are the same, but it is the wrong date.

C'mon then how is it driving, I want to compare notes!

Sorry I haven't been on last night but I was absolutely knackered after the early start and driving in torrential rain all the way back.

So what did I think of the JABBA experience?

Well, I can honestly say that every thing you've read about JABBA is absolutely true. It's a small set-up but they can't do enough for you and you get the impression that what they do isn't just a job but it's a pleasure to work on peoples cars.

After getting there they talk you through what's going to be done, then James expertly fitted the ajustable boost control (this took a little longer than usual, 1.5 hours, as SEAT conveniently fit different coloured wiring to different cars), the car was put on the rolling road and I watched (arse nipping) as Mike took my car up and down the gears, each time adjusting something, letting the car cool down and then the same again.

After about 40 minutes Mike came out and I though that was it but he said that that was just the timing runs and we'd do the 'Power runs' after lunch.

Back to the rolling road and after a dozen or more runs Mike came out smiling. "That's the most powerful one I've done yet."

And the magic figures were 285.8bhp and 363nm (what does that mean in old money?) but it is as smooth as silk.

I haven't had time to have a proper go in it because of the weather conditions last night but I'll tell you more later. Also if my replacement scanner turns up I'll post the dynoplots.

Have to go out now but I'll be back on later.

Final words, It cost me £600 but they worked on my car from 9am to 3pm except the 30 minutes I gave them for lunch:D. They have worked wonders and if anyone is in two minds about getting the JABBA experience I'd say you'd be a fool not to.

Sounds brilliant. 285hp!! :yikes: /me goes off to sulk in the corner...

That was using Optimax though, Mike said if I used normal unleaded or if it was a red hot day I should cut the boost controller from the "5 o'clock" mark (full boost) to the "3 o'clock" mark and that should be around 275bhp.

Mind you he also said the engine was still tight (4700 miles) so things should get better.:D

Yeah thats very similar to what mine got. 282hp & 289lb/ft @ Stealth RR, just too much wheelspin for it to be 100% accurate.

It certainly is fun, coming back yesterday I went to overtake a line of cars in 'standard mode' and realised that it was going to be abit tight with the oncoming traffic, so I whacked the boost to full and the difference was amazing.

The only problem was that the people in the oncoming traffic must have been wondering why the powers that be allowed a dribbling fool a licence:D

Yum Yum:D

Adrian

was that with Dynatwist and new DV?

If so what are they like on the R?

MARRA

No that was totally standard (well apart from the chip)

Mike tried to fit the Dynatwist but he found that the piping that the MAF sensor fits to is longer and wider than on the standard Cupra, Mike said he would be able to stetch the elbow joint over the section of pipe but the actual dynatwist would sit further to the right of the engine bay making it impossible to attach the 'hoover pipe' to the smaller end of the metal casing as this would be resing against the side of the engine bay.

It's just a case of getting a shorter elbow joint so the dynatwist sits further towards the middle of the engine bay (ie. to enable the air feed pipe to be routed. I've talked to Bill about this today and he's going to discuss it with Mike and set things sorted. Top blokes!

The DV wouldn't have made any difference to the powergains so I'll fit that over the weekend.

By the way for a company that states on their website that they keep clear of 'oiled filters' they were very impressed with the dynatwist and want to run tests on it. Praise indeed:cheers:

All of a sudden there is insane laughter going on inside my head.

Me like Jabba. Me like Optimax.

Jabba + Optimax = http://www.freeadpower.org/~mrsmiles/contrib/dvv/asthanos.gif

It's going to be a long wait for my 3 year warranty to run out before I can get this done......
