Has anyone got any idea what i could you to clean my engine out with. I has done 40k miles and I feel it could do with a clean. I have heard that 10k boost is meant to do the trick. HAS anyone used it or if not anuone got ideas an what i can use for me ibiza 20vt :confused:

I would be sceptical of engine cleaners for a 40k car..if you've kept up with your servicing then you'd be surprised just how clean your engine will be....
maybe just some fuel injector cleaner in the petrol for peace of mind...redex or similar.
Wouldn't use an engine flush at 40k unless the engine had been rebuilt for some reason.
Auto express stripped about six cars down to the last nut and bolt when they had done 100k miles..
less than .1 mm wear on bores..rest of engine parts looked like shiny shiny things,,very clean..modern oil and modern engines are very good at keeping clean..
How many posts have you read about seized engines or blocked injectors?:)

I used to deal with this..... Hmmmm is my opinion.
I would'nt use it on a cat equipped car no matter....
Older shagged engines, yea...
My old mans boat.... 2 x BMC Diesels... yes.. but never on my 20VT?
There should be no need what so ever on a modern engine.

Some injection cleaner, I agree. Nothing else.
used it on my ibiza once made a lot of smoke and did run a little better after but when my old man used a can on his 90k+deisel it picked it up a treat,think the older the engine the better the efeect but as mark has said new engines are much better these days,
btw optimax is said to be a godd clean fuel,do you use it?:cheers:
