for a start jase, have you put a new knob onto it yet? you'd be surprised how much less travel is required!!
Yeah agree Brendy. I've got a polished knob, ooer, and it feels a little more 'connected' now and the throw is a lot shorter. Would still like a shortshift but it's not the priority it was anymore.
Stu (utter_hatred) fitted an 02j B&M linkage on his 02a Ibiza. There should be a B&M for 02a (maybe out of stock?) but you ca get that or a Neuspeed from Awesome. Paulo rates highly the Neuspeed shifters he's used in the past.

Being a sad muppet I'm thinking of the Stroeve motorsport gearchange do-hickey with different cables.
I'm sure it's all going to end in tears...
At least I'll end up with a sporty knob ;)

Badum tish!!!!!
How easy/difficult (delete as appropriate) are short shifts to fit?
lucky, you got the 500 notes for a stroeve:eek: was thinking about motorsport cables though, presume they are a tougher set up.
brend, gonna look into this mateif i get one i'll do a pasty crew guide ;)
Stu's already fitted one. No hassle he said even though he fitted an 02j to an 02a.

Indeedy - those nasty boys at eurotech suggested one.
Have to get rid of the centre console and drill the bulhead :(
HARDCORE though ;)
Might be on there for GTI Inters if the production run is ready :D unlike the rollcage :(
