Got another stereo from the dearer has he lost the code for the one i had and the one supplied by Seat was wrong..

Thing is its not new, but out of another car, but the left side sits flush with the trim but the right side sticks out about 3mm.

I assume thats not right. Cant remember what the old one was like. + they gave me one of the old booklets with the stereo, make me think its older.

My one does exactly the same, the brackets on mine are knackered. I'm changing mine anyway.

is the right side not caught on the catch properly (ie you can push it in a bit more but it just comes back out)? I think you need to release the unit again and give it a good shove back in to get it to catch well on both sides.

My brackets are broken on mine, and SEAT can't get any parts for them.

I couldn't get the thing out with the VAG keys I've got, the bracket was broken, so I foolishly yanked it out

I would but i dont have the keys to take the stereo out...

And to be honest I dont ever want to go near my supplying dealer again. Its just not worth the hassel. Mind you he still has my Stanley Road CD in my Stereo. I might just ask for that back once they get a code for it...

I got mine out with kenwood keys - you just need something thin enough to go in the slot

Will changing the Alana head unit make a big difference to the sound with the speakers supplied? Or is it a good head unit, but crap speakers?

From what I've heard the beeza HU is even worse than the aura in the Leon/Toledo so you should see a good change in sound quality by replacing it.

My Alpine 7893R sounds much better than the Alana unit but I don't think the OE spec speakers will take much more abuse.

There's a nasty vibration from the drivers side front tweater already :D
