A few weeks ago, I ordered the Eibach Pro-Street-S coilovers - should be arriving some time next week.
Also in plan are a rear bumper from the facelift model, smoothening the whole front bumper, painting the outer b-pillar and side mirrors in black and a Cupra air intake.
Currently the car is on winter wheels - the original 16" alloys with 205/45 r16 winter tires. (fitted millimeters from the front brakes)!
Hope you like it!
Looks very smart, wheels are nice.
Should look even better on coilovers.
Looks well nice mate.
Quick question--- the Rear tyres look like they fill the arches a lot better (width wise) than on my FR with the same size tyres, does this have something to do with the suspention upgrade? or are they wider tyres in the pic or sumthin.

looking excellent mate! liking the wheels a lot! hmm and i might change from a aero wiper to a fabia one.....aero one is not doing the job!
Looking forward to lowerig it a bit more (specially the rear end)!
Mec - at the rear are 15mm spacers from each side, and also the width of the rim (7,5") makes the tyre look a bit wider..
(didn't put the spacers on the list of mod's because they were borrowed from a friend just to see how they fit).
hon_n_gem - the fabia one also doesn't do the job properly - it doesn't wipe the top end of the window...:) But it's ok, looks good!:D
Been thinking of getting a wiper form the facelift model but it seems it doesn't fit (the wiper engine is different)
beautiful , bet this is the look alot of people want nothing too chavy just smooth looking. I like the rear lights alot.
car looks nice!!
i would have removed the bumpstrips (or whatever you called it) from your bumpers as well :)
grtz

Coilovers fitted...

Also the front is being repaired - had a minor accident and decided to try and go for a Cupra front bumper..:)
Can't wait for it to be finished and take it for a spin!
Btw. Can someone tell me, who has the pro-street-s coilovers, how much are they supose to drop the back end? In the papers that came with them, it says that the rear end is adjustable from 0-25mm, and the front end 35-65 mm.
I thought that the rear end should drop the same??
Thanks in advance!:)
I'm liking that a lot!! Seems to be quite a lot of Seat owners who make good modification choices.
No huge wings, zany bodykits etc. just a few touches to make their car stand out and look a bit more 'finished'.
I am trying to keep mine standard, so this website is proving to be a blessing and a curse. I keep seeing all these nice mods and thinking I could do with changing a few bits.
Once the weather is a bit better, I think I shall be getting my rear 3 windows tinted with a light smoke and I also wanna change front wipers to aero's and the rear to the Fabia or an aero.
I think that will do me for a while.

car is looking pretty nice mate, like it a lot
look forward to seeing the cupra bumper on it. any idea when its gonig to be ready??
Should be done in about a week or so...
Got the car back...
Sad to say that the front end is rubbing on bumps... Couldn’t figer out which part the tire was rubbing on. I hope it's the plastic bit so i can remove it or something, because I wouldn't like to have to heighten it...
Anyone had this problem before??

I don't know the exact model of the camera, but it's a Konica Minolta 3,2 megapixel... And the pictures are sharpen and a bit redone on the computer...

looks good the coilovers should go more at the rear?? than 25mm! 25mm wouldnt drop the rear anything!
lcr splitter really would finish it off tho at the front
oh and the rubbing will be where the wing joints the bumper the wheel sheild has a corner of plastic that sticks out if you cut or belt sand this down it HELPS but dont go too far or the metal wing will be the contact and goodbye to tyres :p

The car is lowered just how I wanted it to be! At the back, the coilovers are at their lowest setting, and at the front there is another 1cm left to lower, but it's as low as I want it now.
I'm probably getting the rubbing sorted tomorrow and then I can really try out the difference...;)
O, and got Cupra bushes...
Rash - the back end dropped perfectly, so I actually don't care what is says in the papers!
I'll stop by the dealer tomorrow and order the splitter (or buy it if they have it in stock).
Thanks for the compliments on the car guys!

That cover is on its way, should be here during this week...
I didn't have the chance to try out the handling because of the rubbing..
Don't have the strut brace... yet.. ;)
Have you fitted a FMIC with that bumper then?
Not sure I'd do that, after reading other peoples findings. Thats the main reason I am fitting the facelift FR bumper and not the Cupra item.

yeh ive got a fmic ready and waiting for forge to make the pipe work. hoping i can tell the difference wen its on, shud also be good for my remap too :p
The FMIC will be on the car by summer, I hope...:)
Asked at my dealers for trouble with the SMIC, and they said that it shouldn't be a problem. And I don't feel any difference than before...
Yesterday I bought 15mm spacers for the rear end, and today I had the splitter mounted and the rubbing sorted out...

Looks nice, but I can see day light under the splitter. I am going to stay FR, should make the car easier to sell when the time comes.
PD160 intake definately next on the list, I got the green today. :)

Yup, there's a little gap between the splitter and the bumper... This is the best that we could fix it on the bumper because the bumper is lower at the sides than it is on the middle.
Didn't notice it on the pictures I've seen so far with the splitter, but now I know it's there, I noticed it on the same pictures...:)
Fair play, it looks well aligned. :)

so what happened about the rubbing? how did u get it fixed?
rashcupra
07-03-2007, 17:19
renda have you fixed it straight onto the bumper in the centre it looks a liitle bowed in the middle ive made some plastic brakets to screw into so it is straight all along the bumper and makes it look even lower
so what happened about the rubbing? how did u get it fixed?
I've put the link above so you can se what you have to cut off...:) (http://www.ibiza-forum.de/thread.php?threadid=30752&sid=)
It still rubbs on bigger bumps, but rarely...
Rash - it is a bit bowed because I wanted to try and get a smaller gap between the bumper... There are plastic brackets on it, but a bit smaller... The bowing is hardly noticeable, and I'm afraid that if i put it lower (straight) i would tare the splitter off somewhere!

well the hose on the left behind the car is where i live and the drive is behind the bush to the left and i have to turn right out of my drive to go into town and to work or the gym so coming off at an angle is impossible
the path behind the car is a path to next doors back garden
Some news...
Been to a dyno last week - 169hp and 390Nm
The odd thing was the power on the wheels - only 120hp! Despite that the car runs very well!
And yesterday, finally, the FMIC was fitted! There's been a lot of effort with making the pipes, but it was worthed ! The car runs so much better in the first 4 gears, I really didn't expect such a difference! :D
On Thursday I'm going to the dyno again to see the possible gains!

i had to go into the stealers yesterday and whilst i was there i got a price on the SEAT sport FMIC, £ 262.85 + VAT  (£308.85).
i asked about the brackets and the hoses etc to link up with the current intake system and he gave me a printed diagram detailing every part in the system and they are all numbered!
if you contact your local friendly stealer, the diagram detailing the SEAT Sport FMIC setup is illustration No: 145-46
(have been trying to upload a PDF of it but can't seem to do it![:@] )
was told when i know what parts i want to quote the illustration number, then the item number.
EDIT: here is the diagram i was on about! apologies for the quality had to do a screen dump, open in paint, crop in photoeditor, but i got there!

near where the number 8 and the number 10 is on that diagram from etika there is a really ristrictive bit of plastic has any1 taken that pice out and replaced with silicone hosing and cutting the bumper bracket off so it will fit on again???
air121005

was thinking of using the diagram as a shopping list ;) and as a costing exercise, source aluminium tubing and silicone hose seperately!

when i finally get my car back im ripping the bumper off to get some more measurements to replace the ristrictive part and work out an idea to keep the sensor that goes in that part.
oh and give the fmic a good clean
how long did it take you to fit the FMIC?
car looks superb by the way!
The fitting took about 5 hours because we had to make the carriers ourselves (brackets, if that’s how that's called ).
My dealer didn't manage to get them on time so we had to improvise!
Here are some pictures of the brackets and of the pipe where we have put the MAP sensor on...
http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5839/pict5199editedsa5.th.jpg (http://img158.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict5199editedsa5.jpg) http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7486/pict5201editedah8.th.jpg (http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict5201editedah8.jpg) http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9186/pict5202editedig2.th.jpg (http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict5202editedig2.jpg) http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/1512/pict5209editedba8.th.jpg (http://img158.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict5209editedba8.jpg)
ph2858 - you need 2 brackets, one for each side of the ic (you'll see them on the pictures)!
Been to the dyno today!
Results, maximum power wise, haven't changed, but the car produces more power in the higher revs range. I could feel that on the road also - it just pulls like hell till 4000 rpm!
And it seems I lost 10Nm of torque, but that's not even noticeable on the road!
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/9951/pict5303cf7.th.jpg (http://img512.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pict5303cf7.jpg)
But there's still a mistery of why the car has such a drastic loss of power on the wheels!

could be clutch slip or transmission problems??
also have you got a pic of the map pipe on the car??
I don't thing it's clutch slip because it was changed a year ago and I don't feel it on the road...
Afraid it could be the transmission as i had it repaired about a month ago!
You can't see a lot in this picture, but just to get the idea where the sensor is located...

how was it repaired
how was it repaired
I'm not sure how the parts are called (in English), but I thing it's the bearings that where repaired and the tooth-gearing on the differential... This was all done at the dealers by the way...
Firstly they thought my 2. gear was faulty because you could here a knocking noise when you would let the car roll on it's own from 2000rpm in the 2. gear...

There are 5 screws holding it in place. First remove the ic pipe going to the egr, and then simply undo the screws and take the two vacuum hoses out. It's a bit fiddly cause there very little room, but just takes a bit of nerves to do.:)

Heh, You're just a little bit too far from me...:D
Anyway, dropped the selling idea cause i got a few things fixed and feel like driving a new car now!
Had the 3. gear sinkro and front wheel bearing (thought it was the steering wheel making some noise) done and put a 2,0 tdi MAF. I thought my turbo was saying goodbye cause the car was staling and didn't go as it used to...
Tried the new maf and WOW! A hole new car!
Am happy with it again now and looking at getting a whiteline rear arb before the summer (hope i can get it here somehow).
If not that, then i'll probably have a cupra turbo put on and map it again to some 200 hp.
Wanted to go for a hybrid but it was a bit out of financial reach...:(

Get recaros or keep the original. Hehe

Easy for you to say when you have better profiles on your Cupra seats... They didn't suck, it's just that they were a bit too buckety for everyday use, gets annoying getting in and out of them...
In the Ibiza the Sport, FR and Cupra seats are all the same, just different materials and patterns on them...:(

i bet that booms mate! What head unit you running??
You got your sub 'fixed down' in your boot or does it slide around?
The hu is an Alpine 9855R, has lots of settings and great sound quality!
The box slides a bit when cornering harder, but just moves to the center of the boot, it doesn't hit the other side! :D
The front speakers are DLS R6A powered by a DLS CA21 and the sub is a Rockford Fosgate HE2 (400W rms) powered by a DLS A6 at 1ohm giving about 800W rms...
The setup with two subs was loud, but didn’t have that much quality. With one sub it’s a great compromise between the loudness and the sound quality..

Your car is one of my favorite MK4s, and seeing it a few years ago made me buy one! Hopefully mine will be near your standard soon :)

Nice to know it made you hooked on the mk4's...:)
Thanks guys!
Today the car was mapped on a dyno, and the results are 190hp (@flywheel) and 440Nm of torque (will have to watch the clutch)...
Here's the graph...
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/8145/scan0001xn9.jpg
It just feels so much more powerful on the road. If I floor it in 2nd it spins the tyres (which it didn't do before) and just pulls harder.
It's a bit smokey, but not too much, and if I find in too much during time, a second map is already prepared with about 3hp less and minimal smoke...
Hmm very nice!
Any clutch slip yet?

looks stunning mate. My favourite m4 (looks wise) by far!
Well...the clutch didn't last for long...
Now saving for an uprated Sachs clutch kit and an OEM flywheel...
In the meanwhile, lifted the coilies for the winter setup (:D). I've put the adjustor cups back on at the rear end and lifted the front for 6mm (and it doesn't rub any more!). Now I'm waiting for colder weather to put 16"s with winters on.

And finally got a fully functional boot without having to take out the sub! The sub is now in a box made to fit the space for the spare wheel and also one amp is under the double floor. The other amp couldn't fit under there so had to mount it on the rear bench.

No updates for a while because i had trouble with the car. First it started limping like it was in safe mode or something (couldn't hear the turbo) and didn't want to go over 2000 rpm.
Took it to my mechanic and turned out the injectors were blocked because of some dirt in the fuel. Had them cleaned (plus the tank and the pump) and problem fixed.
Couple of weeks later (when it was around -13C) the ventilation stopped working (didn't blow hot or cold)! Waited 2 weeks to take it to the mechanic and had it fixed. The ventilation fen died so the whole dash had to be removed to change it! Luckily there are no new squeaks in the car!
When fixing the ventilation I also had something new installed...

Helix clutch and a new dual mass flywheel. It’s now a bit harsher to drive, but I’ll get used to it... :D
And also yesterday I replaced my Valeo front wipers with Bosch AeroTwin ones because Valeos started leaving lines on the windshield.
Love your car, one of the best on here. Perhaps the scenery helps but it looks great. I just got bosh ones but wish i got the aero ones instead...
Long time no visit on here, so here's what’s new:
VW Polo GTI front seats:
http://slike.hr/slika.php?z=dsc004190.jpg
Haven't got any pictures of them in the car, but they fit ok (thought they wouldn't because of the color), and they're loads better then the Ibiza seats
ATE PowerDisks (don't mind the fancy slippers :D):
http://slike.hr/slika/dsc004442.jpg (http://slike.hr)
Had them in 288mm and they were great so went for them again (on 312mm)!
Drilling the front grill:

After:

Still have to do 2-3 holes because i couldn't drill them on the car because the IC piping is in the way.
Also a Whiteline rARB should be arriving some time next week...:funk:
And some random pictures:

Very nice Renda.... I love the last shot :)
It also looks like the flies have been drilling your bumper too :p
Yeah the last shot is awsome. Great picture :happy:
I wonder who took that shot...
Vekic's skill and a bit of my PS to it...:D
Altech - it was the first thing i noticed when i've put on the cupra bumper. And seeing your job on the grill, i had to do the same, just took me a while...:D
There is a much easier way to drill out the blocked up honeycombs. If you remove the bumper you can actually grind/sand away the piece of plastic that blocks up the honeycombs from behind. It's much easier and quicker, I wish I knew about that method before I did mine.
Same here then!:D
Never mind. At least i spent some quality time with my girlfriend, drilling the bumper!

Got any pictures of the seats fitted? They look as if they would support you well and comfy!
Got any pictures of the seats fitted? They look as if they would support you well and comfy!
Not yet, ill take some one day now.
Theyre just great compared to the original seats, loads better support!
This weekend I took off the front bumper to clean the intercooler and pipes and to finish drilling all the holes in the front bumper.
Also cleaned the engine bay a bit...
So here are some pictures:

Like the seats
Yeah the seats look really good :) they look more supportive too.
Are you going to leave your engine cover off?
Nice work, those projector headlights are cool :)
Love your Avatar picture! :D
Thanks guys!:)
Ad law - hehe, the avatar looks mean and low...[B)]
Altech - Yup, leaving the cover off. I think it just keep unnecessary heat under the bonnet. Plus the pipes look nice and shiny. :)
I'm still waiting for the damn rear ARB! Can't wait to get it on the car and try it out!
Hope it will be a good improvement on the handling as most people say it is!

One of my fav Mk4's, always looks immaculate and pictures are of great quality as usual. :)
Looks much better with the Cupra rear bumper :) Have you smoothed out the exhaust cut out?
Cheers guys!:)
Yup, smoothend exhaust hole! Didn't want any soot on the boot... But it seems that this bumper tends to pull a bit of smoke on the rear anyway, but not enough to bother me luckily.:D
I'm still thinking should i get some black rear lights now, to match the grey/black theme...
After wanting a Whiteline rear ARB for over a year now, finally managed to get it here and yesterday mounted it on the car!
Even got a little kangaroo from Australia ()

Didnt do much driving to feel the difference (riding on winter tyres as well), but from what i did manage to test, the front has more grip and turns in better and the rear hasnt become more unstable!
And some pics from before Xmas, riding low in the snow :D

I've put my standard wheels back on too, our cars look like twins now!

Those snow pics are class! :)
Really cant remember whens the last time that we had so much snow on the roads, i was out all day driving around. :D
Altech - just shows that youve got good taste...
Looking forward to some driving tonight and tomorrow (cause of the ARB), hopefully rain wont spoil the fun!
