Hi all,
If i upgrade my tip to a forge or samco hoses does this come under the modifiying my car umbrella and if so do i need to tell my insurance company?

Strictly yes but I wouldn't bother. I'm sticking to black ones so they don't stick out as much.
They're a cosmetic change and don't offer any real performance gains, most won't care anyway so you could just mention them if your paranoid.

thanks for the quick reply , thought about sticking to black , but the other colours will brighten up my engine bay , vain i know :D

I'm not bothered about the bling. Granted the blues and reds look cool but I open my bay once in a month maybe to check the oil, water, coolant etc.. then shut it never to be seen again so am not too bothered hence the black :)

If their cosmetic only and your not bothered by the look of your bay why did you buy one :confused:

I didn't buy them for their looks, they are a lot stonger than the original rubber hoses which are prone to split, as well as the well documented OE TIP that collapses. You think people buy them for their looks?, yes a tarted up engine bay looks good but they also provide a function. They are still only really a cosmetic mod, just stronger than the originals. Colours are optional hence the black.

Not having a dig mate :p I agree on the advantages you mentioned. just your post made out they were only for blinging up the bay but you dont like bling. If you get what i mean. Lol.

No I do like the reds and the blues etc..don't get me wrong. RobDon has one of the nicest bays on the site. However I just feel they are more function over form and went for some in black and wanted to keep it a bit more subtle. Forge and Samco do make some nice hoses if a little pricey :)
