Hi there, just saw this nice test to a tuned 187bhp/300ft-lbs A3 TDI130. For those who canīt understand french, this little diesel dragster is capable of:

226kmh (141mph) top-speed
14.x sec 1/4 mile
27.5 sec 0-1000m(0.6miles)
80-120kmh (50-75mph) in 4th - 5.7sec
80-120kmh (50-75mph) in 5th - 7.0sec
80-120kmh (50-75mph) in 6th - 9.5sec

These numbers are enough to go head to head with a Civic Type-R or a Subaru Impreza WRX from a roll..not bad for a +50mpg car.. ;)

intresting figures. I wonder what my 1/4 mile time is.
I would have thought pretty similar - the two cars are pretty much the same weight?

Both the A3 and the Ibiza weigh about the same. ;)
The A3 on the real world has a slight performance advantage, especially from 4th gear up, due to shorter gearing on 4,5 and 6th gears.
On the 1/4mile, here is another tuned (Upsolute) A3 TDI130 14's figure:

therefore 100kg or 1.2 people. Reasonable difference - not huge though.

BTW i think the Audi is about 70kg heavier than the Beezer, so perfomance should be a weeeee bit better :D
the A3 is 1200kg according to audi website?

That took a surprisingly long time for someone to come up with that...
Audi Unladen weight 1200kgs GVW 1760kgs
Beezer Kerb weight 1192kgd GVW 1687kgs
I think a weighbridge is the only answer. Car weights are notoriously ambiguious...
Beezer Polo size, A3 golf size. I think common sence would say the Beezer would be a bit lighter. Not mach maybe but abit!!

On my local mag info these are the numbers:
A3 TDI130 3 door - 1.200kgs
Ibiza TDI130 3 door - 1.196kgs
Golf TDI150 3 door - 1.267kgs
So..both the Beezer and Audi weigh about the same, as I mentioned before. In a real world comparison between a Beezer and a A3, theyīre even accelerating off the line and by the mid/end of 4th gear the Audi starts to gain a noticable advantage due to a shorter overall gearing.
But hey, why donīt you call an Audi TDI mate and do this comparison for yourselves? :p
