Called into this dealer at lunchtime as I have just started working in the area.
My 20k will be due in a few weeks time and since this is the only dealer in range of my work that i could pick up a courtesy car and make it to work on time, i thought i may as well use them for my service. Well i thought wrong!!

They refuse to give out courtesy cars to anyone that didn't buy the car from them and they didn't even offer a drop-off/pick-up service either
I can't believe it, i was outraged! Surely this has got to contravene a Seat policy? They made it seem like they really didn't want to service my car, just cos I didn't buy it from them:(

So now i'm stuck, i'm going to have to take a day off work just to get the bloody thing serviced, and since i get paid hourly, thats going to cost me more than the service:eek:

I thought peugeot dealers were bad, then I bought a Seat:mad:

Another customer feels the amzingly informed customer service of Eddy Pinchbeck.

Go to GC mate. There's actually room to move and park there :)

Yuip wosnt impressed with pinchbecks at all even when looking to buy!:(

I now run down to GC in Southampton the night before the car is booked in and drop it off then pick it up the following evening!:)

Do we have any official line on this no courtesy cars for non-Pinchbecks bought cars then?

Not sure but I know Huzzeys in Newbury do courtesy cars as well, wether u bought a car there or not! They cost £5.88 a go from there though!:o Whereas the GC ones appear to be free;)

You would expect warrantee job ones free i guess. Maybe also service ones as SEAT ask you to service with them to kepp your warrantee.

Other stuff maybe not.

do a search on pinchbeck! i was digusted by there service and attitude, do not appreciate being told to f off by a dealer. ok i know i had an import, but that eas no excuse, i have 3 services a year plus about to spend 100's on a kit, anyway i fund Husseys and they are the best dealer you could come across. shame pincheck (who is a couple of miles away from me) arent in the same league. husseys also give you a courtsey car. GC alsohighly recommene

My god SEAT r u aware of this? get a grip on your dealers OK?

yes, didnt like the fact that I had an import. Told me they had a few with the suspension fallen off, had a different engine etc, you wont find any SEAT dealers who will service that!

I was going to complain, but never got round to it. I know of at least six other unhappy customers in Andover.

...anyway its in the past now as I deal with Husseys.

I normally hold my tongue when the comments involve other Dealers (we all have to work together after all)but this thing about service loan cars really gets my goat.
If they have refused you a loan car based on the principle that you didn't buy it from them call SEAT UK customer service and they should sort it for you.
It's a very 1970's way of doing business. If ,for example,we said that to our service customers we would never have anything booked in the workshop.
If any other Dealers are reading this then listen up,you will not increase your business by getting the hump because someone didn't buy a car from you,it's unprofessional and downright stupid!!!!!Sort it out Network.
Rant over

I just thought... so basically if you lived 100 miles away and bought a new car and then moved to this area and tried to get it serviced at Pinchbecks they would tell u to get lost for a courtesy car??

Surelyl servicing cant be that un profitable!

What we really need is a Seat garage in Basingstoke!:D Every other dealer is there and I think Seat used to be and u see 100's of the things in the area!:D

Told me they had a few with the suspension fallen off, had a different engine etc

Irrespective of the fact they all come out the same factory...

Ignorance on behalf of the dealer in question.

Oh dear another dealer's just fallen off my lsit of ones i'm prepared to do business with :(

Lol, if you saw what they offered as "courtesy" cars perhaps you might not be so keen. When I took my old Toledo V5 in for a service I was offered a Mk1 system porsche Ibiza which had seen better days to say the least. I declined...:repuke:

thans for the mail chris, if other dealers were to your standard this mail wouldnt b here

irrespective of me having an import, pinchbecks wouldnt of given me a courtsey car, as when i boughtmy seat i was based in Aldershot, and the dealer was focus( who i believe do courtsey cars) Another dealer, in Farnham has the same rules as pinchbecks

Basically, a dealer wo gives good service and a courtsey car gets my custom, which is 3 services a year and various bits loke Cupra R bodykit

official line(s) from SEAT UK

All SEAT Authorised dealers will supply a courtesy vehicle by arrangement as required. Our network of dealers operate as independent businesses and these cars are solely at their discretion, there may be limited resources and conditions may apply. Please consult your local Dealer when booking your vehicle in for servicing or repair

and

We know how important it is to keep on the move and how inconvenient it is when your car is at the Dealer. A courtesy car from participating Dealers makes the difference in keeping you mobile, reserve yours when you book a service.

Whilst our Dealers will endeavour to provide you with a courtesy car* it may not always be possible on specific dates, please try to give as much notice as you can.

Where it may not be possible to provide you with a car our Dealers may be able to offer you a pick-up and delivery service, please ask your Dealer for full details.
*There may be a charge for this service.

so still clear as mud, and the dealer seems to be able to choose what he likes.

I've seen thorough the mud.

It's a hipocritical statement. Go forbid I call SEAT hipocrits though.

But then again it's YOUR OFFICIAL LINE SEAT! sort it out and stop confusing your sales base??

Chris sorry to hear your problems with Pinchbeck's. As you live in Southampton you could always drop off your car at Great Covert on the way to Salisbury, we offically open at 7am. We could service your car while you wait and you would still be in Salisbury by 9.30, or you could have a courtesy car which is free :) but there is a small fee for insurance cover ;)

Andy yes we do also service and carry out warrenty work on imports, providing that they are correctly registered with SEAT UK. When you need your body kit we should also be able to supply that aswell. Hopefully our parts issues are soon going to be resolved as we now have a parts manager to assist our parts adviser :D

Cheers Colin.
